I want a hug

My name is Tom and I'm 14.

I'm new to this forum, but I feel so depressed and sad at school because of mean kids, and Ive always wanted a hug from a girl, I have a girl in mind, and I feel like a hug from her would feel so loving and warm.

Could someone please comfort me or something? I cant really elaborate at the moment because I'm at school, but I will be happy to talk later in the replies.

No I usually don't feel as bad at home. This crush doesn't know I like her, in fact she doesn't even know I exist, shes a famous actress. But yes I love hugs but my parents don't give me any and neither do my friends. I'll do ok though. Virtual hugs are nice

In fact I'll be honest, my crush is probably older than you because I love old hollywood and my crush is from that era. Her name was Natalie Wood, and she was in West Side Story and Rebel Without A Cause.

Hello Tom, a hug seems to rid us of any ill-feelings or thoughts and it's not something that fades away as we grow older, although as you age, it becomes slightly easier to give someone a hug, whether you're in love, infatuation or to console a person.

As you're young, this is going to happen throughout your life and at times when it does and other times when it seems as 'grass is always greener on the other side' saying.

This can happen to celebrities you suddenly fall in love with or perhaps someone at school who has many friends around her and giving her all the attention that you want to be part of, but are unable to for certain reasons, and this only makes it worse.

Don't forget there might be girls who want to do exactly the same with you that you are unaware of, so it goes both ways.

I’m really sorry to hear that your parents don’t give you hugs...mine were the same...Ummm maybe when your feeling like a hug...just walk up to one of your parents and give them a hug...just tell them , you need a hug...How do you think they would react?....

Hi Tom. You made me remember being 14. I didn't like it much. Life gets better, mate. Some of us fit in at school and some of us don't. Remember, your school is full of people who happen to live close to you. After school you will find a career and it will be full of people you have more in common with. Your friendships will come from groups you join because of common interests.

My parents never hugged me or told me they loved me. Some parents are just like that. I craved that all through my childhood, and smothered my kids in it because I knew how much they need it.

God, being 14 and liking someone is so scary!! I know just how you feel. I think you're combining two things here. I have lots of female friends I hug, but that they are female does not matter, they are just friends. So remember, if a girl gives you a hug, it might only mean friendship. Are you even friends with this girl? If you don't really know her, you have a crush, and that is also normal. I guess my only advice is, if you don't try you won't know, but also, I know that the down side can be devastating, so work out what you feel comfortable with. Don't go and talk to her because someone on the internet told you to 🙂
