I'm reaching out for help and some direction.
As my title states I am a mess atm. I have never felt so low. Every waking moment I am in my own dark negative thoughts. And the negativity is all consuming. Furthermore, I am in tears multiple times a day. For example, it's almost lunch time and I've counted 8 desperate times where I am overwhelmed.
I did the depression test on this sight and I got 40 which it tells me is high.
I don't know what to do....

Welcome ChuckD
When not knowing what to do you have come to the right place, you can share as much as you feel comfortable to here, I am so pleased you took the test, 40 is high but not unmanagable.
I am wondering if you have the support of a GP or if you would consider making an appointment to chat?
You do sound very overwhelmed and especially in this time that we are in now where everything is different and we are having to adapt, it is not easy at all.
There is also the Beyond Blue support service if you feel like chatting to someone, 1300 22 4636, and also the wonderful people at Lifeline if you are really struggling with bad thoughts, 13 11 14.
Welcome ChuckD and we are here for you to share this journey with you.
Hope to chat to you some more.
Sarah

Welcome to the forums ChuckD,
The feeling of being overwhelmed is a brutal one. Are you able to go for a short walk? Walking helps me when im feeling tense and overwhelmed.
I cant recommend enough talking to your GP! They'll be able to offer advice and maybe even refer you to a psychologist.
take care.
