I once lived with s lady tgat, unlike myself, she didn't have a passion.
I used to enjoy designing model airplanes, write poetry and crosswords while I watched tv. She's sit there bored to the bone.
However, we learned through counseling that a hobby is one thing, a passion is on another level. You can't force a passion onto yourself, it is just natural and intense.
Regardless, you can distract yourself, essentially filling in the gaps of time, keep busy.
Please put in the search bar-
distraction and variety

With such limited information we try to help as best we can.
Maybe you'd help out more if you supplied more information?
What sort of help are you seeking?

Hey Hey - I don't know where "this godforsaken place" is, but if it's remote and there aren't many like-minded people to have some fun with, I'd suggest you figure out a few new approaches.
Aside from an online game of Dungeons & Dragons (heh), I can't offer much, BUT .. sounds like there's a bit too much computer/tv, so maybe get outside and find an activity even if it's by yourself (or with a dog, dogs are great companions and fun to play with)
Maybe you just need a beer, some music and some nice people to make jokes with, but if a pub trivia night isn't available, my advice would be that even alone, getting out of the house will probably help shake things up a little.
At the risk of sounding utterly lame, hit up your local library, if there is one - it gets you out of the house, looking at things from new angles, and there might even be a notice board about local stuff going on, from live music to a whole bunch of other stuff that nourishes the soul.

Hi lochness46,
I completely understand being in isolation and boredom can significantly impact one's mental health. This might sound a bit silly, but maybe try writing down something about yourself in a journal. For example, the things that you have gratitude about and you have. Then on the other side write about the things that you are not so happy about etc.
Research shows that things we have or have gratitude about are 10 times greater than what we do not have etc.
But if you are still bored - I am always active on BeyondBlue online forums - I hope I can be of great company!
