Hi,
my 2nd post here, it's been 3 years. I don't know what to say. I live alone, after a divorce 3 years ago; it had to happen, and I'm glad it did. It's just sad is all; so much wasted time, and wasted work. Anyway, I'm under the supervision of a doctor, psychiatrist and psychologist; and on medication. Today, I'm down, way down and have been that way for a week now. Even being depressed is depressing, if you know what I mean. I have no family. I have 3 pets, a cat and 2 dogs. And I'm so clad I have them as they are so sensitive to my emotional state.
A few years ago now, I was befriended by a couple and they have become my only family. Thank God for them. They have helped me through so much, been there when I really have been in need. So thankful.
I guess my post, this post, is a 'message in a bottle'... just y way of saying, hello and your not alone, even though you feel alone. Anyway, throwing this message in the 'water'. Keep calm, and battle on without giving up.
Jeff.

Welcome to the forums - glad to see you on here.
It sounds like you have strategies that help you get through the bad times - whether that's seeing your psychiatrist and psychologist...as well as spending time with your therapy animals.
Also counting your blessings helps out too, as you said about meeting the couple as your family.
I also see a psychologist and psychiatrist. I learnt a lot from one of them, she taught me DBT skills and I use these skills in my every day life. I also tried CBT with a different psychologist. And I'm quite stabilised, with the help of medications too. I love art, listening to music and exercising...everything contributes to my mental health recovery. I realised there aren't one way of doing things too.
I love your mini message about battling on and not giving up. It's really good.
Feel free to write again, Jeff - don't be afraid. It's a safe environment.
Thanks
Suzi
