Hi, welcome

most people here do feel like an oddball. But it isn’t as bad as it feels sometimes depending how you look at it.

Having a mental illness can also provide you with some quirky abilities, in my case poetry, others art and music. To embrace your illness, accept it and move on from it will be your greatest achievement. Better than fighting it as you’ll lose.

You can achieve goals by thinking radically. Go to the outback working in a cattle station, join groups or cheering on sports clubs like footy etc. Things then snowball as you meet people.

All you need to do is protect your feelings from some nasty people

Hi, welcome to beyond blue. The first two things are not me, but coping is something I am familiar with. There are times when I would rather be anywhere else - I will listen to music, come here (to the forums), virtual hope box, try to flip it to the positive. Ultimately.... ride it out. Want to tell me more of your story?
