Hey Mary! How many kids have a Mum who can't wait for them to get home from school to talk to them? I think they're very lucky kids indeed 🙂 A safe, supportive environment is the most wonderful thing you can give your kids, what money can buy is nothing in comparison.
It's hard to keep studying & job hunting when it can take so long for any reward to come of it, in my experience I've just had to try & push through the discouraging feelings and not give up.
Love n care xo

Dear Mary Ploppins,
I too wish my Mum had been more like you, wanting us to come home from school so she could spent time with us. My Mum used to vanish for months than return home with no explanations from anyone.
Either way, you have mentioned you are feeling depressed and down and have not had a good experience with study. I'm sorry to read study was not beneficial for you, like you mentioned, we can spend a lot of money on trying to better ourselves!
Depression and being alone is not always a good combination. Do you have someone you could have a cuppa and a chat with now and then? Volunteer work you might like to do, even a couple of hours a week will get you out and about meeting people.
Do you have hobbies and interests you might be able to do at home or in a group? I discovered a yarn craft group at the local library! We never know what is out there until we step out to have a look.
You wrote you have zero experience, sounds to me like you are an excellent, loving caring Mum. Is there a Playgroup near you where you could volunteer? Your amazing Mothering skills may be just what another parent needs to be aware of, the joy of being a parent.
You have also mentioned already planning ideas for the holidays with the children.
If you are comfortable to do so, you might like to start up another thread with a title something like "Activities to enjoy with your Children".
Some people just may not have any idea of how to entertain their children all the time. If people have limited funds that can be difficult also. You may well have some excellent ideas others have just not thought of.
You might feel comfortable sharing some ideas and tips here.
I am about to go for a walk before it become too hot and before I change my mind! Ha. Ha.
Cheers to you and all. From Mrs. Dools
