GRATITUDE

Hi all,

3 weeks ago today I was in an ambulance for the third time in 2 months as the result of my illness (es). Today at the forefront of my mind is something that helps me. A friend said long ago: "I'm not where I want to be; I'm a million miles from where I thought I'd be, but I'm so grateful I'm not where I used to be".

Hi Kombitop,

Thanks for sharing these words of wisdom. Really hoping you are doing okay today.

A guy said to me recently something along the lines of

"If there is no light at the end of the tunnel, then run down there and light one!"

Wishing you all the best in your journey Kombitop!

Cheers form Mrs. Dools

Hi kombitop

Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

Hope you are feeling better. Just wanting to add it is a safe place to talk about anything here

I thought I'd add something my mum used to tell me "Fake it till you make it and one day you will not longer be faking it but actually making it" I use this for if I have to pretend to be happy with friends then I may fake it and then one day I will be happy and it won't be fake. (this sometimes happens when I have a depression flare up)

Thanks for sharing

hi Kombitop, great words of advice, unfortunately we have to be there at our lowest point before we can learn that there is another point in our life that we do appreciate, and that any improvement is better than none at all. Geoff.

Hi kombitop.

Whats es?

I love these quotes. Quotes help get things into perspective.

I hope you are improving. Even baby steps are good. Watch a snail, turn away one minute and glance back...their progress is astonishing.

Hi white knight,

The es is just plural...........as in illnesses. I have more than depression.

Cheers

Thank you Mrs Dools, and you're welcome. I know the serenity prayer very well by the way! And the light at the end of the tunnel IS NOT an oncoming train !

You're welcome too Ms Purple. I'm ok today thanks.

Yes Geoff, that friends words help shift my thinking at times.
