Dear new member~

Welcome here to the Forum. I'm sorry you are feelng bad at the moment

I know in my own case when tailing off medication I've had all sorts of reactions, even to the point of being suicidal. doesn't happen all the time of course however I have tried a large number of meds and dosages over the years and found I could come off some with no ill effects, but with a few the change has affected me badly.

The only answer after the first time was to make special arrangements so I could contact my psychiatrist who prescribed the medication in question and let him know things were not going well. On one occasion I had to go back on full dose then tail off over a much longer period, others just slow the reduction.

I'm not a doctor, and different people have different reactions too, so cannot say why you are feeling down, however your circumstances sound much like mine. I'd strongly urge you to get back in touch with the clinician that prescribed your meds and set out exactly what is happening.

If there is going to be a delay then in the meantime  I'd suggest contacting our own 24/7 Help Service or else Lifeline on 13 11 14 for a bit of a chat. Both are there for everyone with any sort of problem.

Can I ask if there is anyone to give you some support in your life -a parent or friend perhaps? It can make things easier, they only have to listen and care.

I'm now on a set of meds that work well and have for years, they do a reasonable job and have few side effects. I guess I'll be on them permanently but don't mind, it's much better to be on them than be the way I was.

You are always welcome to talk here
