Feeling down

Today has been a bad day. I usually manage everything on my own but because a have a friend I thought I could rely on, I asked for help. I was let down this afternoon and now feel totally frustrated. My anxiety was high for other reasons, which my friend knew about. Of course my anxiety skyrocketed. I have Bipolar 11 and have lived with anxiety and depression all of my life. I'm now in my early sixties. Sometimes I think I'm better off shutting myself off from the world.

Hello Anicca,

I am sorry your friend did not help you when you needed. I am almost 60 and have bipolar and sometimes I feel a bit of a hermit but I find when I make an effort to get out I am gladI did.

Do you have any interests or hobbies.? It is hard when you people let you down.I know today has been a bad day. I hope it is better tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing your story.

Hi Anicca,

You sound like you’re going through a very difficult time although yesterday, in particular, was very rough. It’s nice to see that Quirky has kindly responded with empathy and gentle suggestions.

You must have felt very hurt, disappointed and possibly even rejected by your friend. It can really, really sting when people you thought would be there for you don’t end up being there...I feel for you. I have felt let down before too so I get where you’re coming from...

I hear your feelings of being disheartened and would love to be able to support you more (as would others here).

Please know you’re always most welcome to come back here to share more about yourself. There’s no pressure of course but just know the option is there...

Gentle, caring thoughts;

Pepper
