Hi,
I think i might be severely depressed. It would of happened 18 months ago when a person i was helping out for work for 2 years, backstabbed me. I always wanted to be friends with them but thought my anxiety and depreasion was the problem. So i told them my mental disorders so they could see past the awkwardness of me. The person said that is why there are physciatriats. I felt lost and betrayed.
How can i get over this?
Thanks

Hello IT, and a warm welcome.
I am so very sorry this person who you were helping has just suddenly backstabbed you, nothing like what you had expected and certainly disappointed you in every way possible.
Given your time helping this particular person has dumbfounded you by just pushing you away, they don't want to help you, let alone hear what you wanted to tell them after all the help you have provided, of course, you would be shocked and make you question the humanity in why you should help someone when they just disregard you after all you have done.
If you do feel strong enough, then tell them you aren't able to do anything more for them, unless they know that they have made a mistake and want to assist you, but perhaps the damage has been done and the friendship finished.
There is nothing worse when you try and explain and open your heart up to someone and then they just brush you off, I know how demeaning this can be.
Now you have to start talking to someone who is qualified to help you, but can I suggest you write down everything that been causing you to feel like, and if you can jot them down in points form, this will only make it easier for your doctor/psychologist to read, rather than being in an essay form.
You are also entitled to 10 Medicare paid sessions if you ask about the 'mental health plan' per year.
We hope you can reply back to us, whenever you're available.
My best.
Geoff.
