Hi so my name is Stephen and i started battling depression last year coupled with GAD!! I have tried numerous antidepressants  to no avail. I am currently going through ECT but this doesnt seem to be making any difference. I have spoken with a few different psychologists. but nothing is helping!!!

I want to know whether people have tried many ADS and then tried the older class of MAOIS and found it helped.. Please i am desperate to get better!!!

Hi Giggy89,

I hear your (completely understandable) frustration and urgency. Applause for your proactive approach; you are clearly trying very hard to help yourself and I respect that. Very admirable.

I have to admit that I don't have much advice to give re: meds. But I wanted to reply as a supportive gesture. Not to worry, there are many other wonderful people here who would be able to help you. Thinking of you and hang in there.

*Sorry, I was meant to type Stephen.

Apologies again

I am catching up with my psychiatrist on Thursday. He was the one who suggested doing ect. But I feel it hasn't helped at all. I am currently on a tca but apart from sleeping like a baby it hasn't done anything for my depression.

Your body/mind's unresponsiveness to the ect must be disheartening especially as you have tried so many different treatments/medications.

I know you've tried many alternatives but maybe your psychiatrist can come up with something else when you see him/her on Thursday? Let us know how that goes.

In the mean time, you are more than welcome to post messages. We are here for you.
