Kim,
Welcome to this friendly and supportive forum.
It is hard when you move to a new place where you don’t know anyone.
Would you feel ok to talk to your neighbour. .? I realise it is difficult and I have moved to new towns and felt alone too. Maybe volunteering at a local op shop, if your town has one, or maybe there is a community garden you could help at really any activity in the town that may interest you.
I am thinking of some way you could gently meet people. It is a viscous circle when you feel very lonely but your it hard to meet people.
Kim you are not alone and we are here to support you.
Please feel free to post here.

Hi Kim,
I think loneliness is an absolutely horrible feeling as most people crave and need human connection. You sound very anxious, frightened and self conscious...all difficult feelings...
I’m glad Quirky responded with such a kind post. I wonder if you have talked to anyone (e.g. psychologist, counsellor, etc) about how you have been feeling. I hope it’s okay for me to say that. The reason that I’m gently wondering is I think maybe s/he could help you with a plan to help you work through your fears about other people, and perhaps help you re-engage with others again. Just a little idea...
Is it okay if I ask how have you been doing since your opening post on this thread?
Caring thoughts,
Pepper
