What small thing brought you a little joy this week?

Hi everyone,
Life can be hard sometimes, so I thought I might try something different here.
And I figured it might be nice to share a little light. Has something (big or small, it does not matter!) that brought you a moment of joy this week?
It could be as simple as a smile from a stranger? Good cup of coffee? a walk? Or something funny your pet did.
I’ll start: After a day when I thought I did not accomplish much, my higher up sent me a text message in the evening, thanking for the help I had given during the day. And this put a smile on my face.
Looking forward to hearing the little things that made your day a bit brighter

😊That’s awesome that you got to experience that at monkey Mia. I have seen so many dolphins in the water where I live here in SA they use to come in to the river - I was walking along the river late at night, and 2 came in so close I could see one’s stomach and it had a fish in its mouth. 🙂
I havnt seen Whales up close though. I would like to travel to Bremer bay. To see the Orcas.
Thankyou for replying 🙂

Hi Halecia,
I too would love to go out and see the orcas from Bremer Bay. Where I live the dolphins come up the river and sometimes they put on a show where they do flips in the air. This seems to be when there are a lot of schooling fish to chase and they are genuinely happy as there’s plenty to eat. Other times it is really calm and the surface of the river is glassy and I will hear a breathy noise which is the blowhole of a dolphin surfacing. It’s very peaceful when it’s like that. I love that you got to see that one up close with the fish in its mouth 🙂🐬 It’s nice to hear about them in SA. My mum is from there so I’m a bit familiar with the places you mention.
Have a lovely day ☺️

Well, things go in cicles. 4 months ago my daughter got the diagnosis of MS. Unlike 10-20 years ago it is being treated far more efficiently now. But it took her a lot to accept.
Last weekend her and her husband visited from 3 hours away and gave us a early fathers day card and a card for my wife's birthday (step mum). Inside the card were beautiful words and a photocopy of a xray for a pregnancy. She's 10 weeks!!! Absolutely over the moon.
When my daughter left her mother's home at 12yo her mother held a grudge that 23 years later still stands. (how dare she leave one parent to go to another), so my wife that is her godmother who's known my daughter since birth has been "mum" ever since. My wife couldnt have children. So now she is not only a mum but a grandmother to be.
I'm still on a high. Her birth mothers father built a rocking horse for my daughter when she was a toddler. Unfortunately her birth mother kept it in spite many years ago. I plan to replicate it and present it to her at xmas time. Due late March.
Tears of joy.

Dear Tony,
That is just wonderful news! I’m really happy for you and your daughter and her husband, and for your wife too getting to be in that grandmother role. It’s lovely to hear of your joy.
Sending hugs and happiness,
ER

A first job is a big event. I was 17yo+4 days when flown by a 727 jet Melbourne to Adelaide 1973 as a brand new RAAF recruit. Fear would be an understatement. Then I didnt stop running for 3 months.
Little did I know it would be the first of around 90 jobs and 15 professions due to mental stuff. However every one of those jobs would present the same level of fear that first job presented. The second day was always easier.
Our kids make us proud with every step they take

Hi All,
Tony, I too have always found the first day of a new job on the scary side. But it’s amazing how once you know the job it becomes second nature, like you always knew how to do it. So it’s always good to know it becomes familiar and you develop competence.
My small joy this week was firstly improving in terms of physical pain symptoms and having much more range of movement, which makes life so much more comfortable. And, secondly, the best friend I have here in town just phoned and we are going to catch up tomorrow. She’s a great person to know and I really look forward to chatting with her.
Wishing everyone a lovely evening ☺️
