The Smith Family are another fantastic organisation to volunteer for they are always looking for volunteers in admin, mentoring and tutoring. www.thesmithfamily.com.au - then their volunteering page.

Volunteering is a fantastic idea. You could even volunteer at a local community group, sports club or library? What are you interested in?

Potentially a volunteer role could lead to a pair role, at least a job reference and even new friends.

carpe diem!

Take Care.

Hello rufio and others.

I'm sorry to hear that you're unemployed, but good on you for joining the forums (welcome), and for trying to find stuff for you to do.

I'm not exactly sure what's around Sydney since I'm in Victoria, but you could try something like these:

  • An Op Shop.
  • Working at an Animal Shelter/Vet Clinic, such as Dog Walking or something.
  • Helping out the community so possibly trying to do Sausage Sizzles, Fundraisers (such as Raffles), trying to join communities like the Rotary Club perhaps?
  • You could even try to join something like Beyond Blue, Cancer Council, any great charity and raise money for them somehow.

That's all I can think of currently but there's so many things you could try. I suppose your best bet would be searching up volunteer work near you (your suburb or nearby), and calling and/or emailing people and places to ask if they're taking volunteers and if you have to be a certain age, and asking them if they pay or not.

Best of luck, I hope you find something and that you enjoy it.

Hi Guys,

I thought I'd share that I currently volunteer at the local rotary club.

It's great to Volunteer in the area I grew up in as a kid, I see familiar faces while giving back to the community that gave so much to me.

I urge you to reach out to your local Rotary Club and help out in the area that made you who you are.

Regards,

Doz
