The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ... 

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Yes it was a nice morning.  I lived in Canberra between 1990 and 2001, working in DFAT for 14 years, but travelled from interstate for a year or 2 either side of living there.  Before that I was in private enterprise (accounting) for 11 years, and I've been in private enterprise since leaving in 2002.  My sister and I owned a place in Hawker for the time I lived there.

Enjoy your trip to Batemans Bay.  Do you do the fish and chips at the place in Batemans Bay just over the bridge on the water, cant recall the name of it now.  Its been about 14 years since I was there.  I like Malua Bay, but never stayed there.  Safe travels.............

I guess you are leaving the BB Cafe in the capable hands of the BB Community whilst you're away?

Hiya Sherie hun - change of plans, decided the Bay's probably teeming, being new year and all. So we're off to Merimbula, via Cooma and Snowy Mountains Highway. Breakfast at Nimmitabel bakery 😃. So, yes you're all in charge of the cafe, it will be a long day.

So you know life in the APS then Sherie. I can't complain really, it's been very good for me career-wise. Won't name my department, but I work with lawyers (you can probably work it out). One of my colleagues lives in Hawker. I'm on the southside. I love Canberra, great place to live if you have to be in a city. ☺️

Well, early start tomorrow so I'm off to bed. Hope you all had an OK day. Night then.

Hi Kazzl, that sounds good.  Although I expect at this time of the year, no matter where you go, it will be busy.  It is going to be a long day for you though.  Please take care on the roads.

Yes, I know life in the APS.  Took some getting used to when I first started, after having been in private enterprise for 11 years.  But it was interesting and I enjoyed it.  And although I am definitely not a city girl, I actually quite liked living in Canberra.  Canberra has a lot of good things going for it.  My older sister still lives in Canberra.  As you say, if you have to live in a city, you could do much worse than Canberra.  I find that Perth is similar in a lot of ways too, more like a huge country town.  But without all the roundabouts!  (-:

And yes, I think I'm with you, regarding the lawyers.

Oh my goodness Mocha!! We didn't realise....we just thought u liked cake! Now u have a baby kitten. Can we keep her? She won't b any trouble. What about we call her Latte. i will clean up the mess and make you two a nice bed. Extra special breakfast for Mocha today. So sweet. 

When Kazzl is away, the cats will play 😉🐱 cheeky kittens

I am now imagining in the cafe that kaz has started

........I can prepare for you a banana smoothie if you like KT, if you haven't already helped yourself. I think I spied some yummy frozen bananas way back here in the freezer. And Latte is a cool name for a sweet baby kitten.....

I am feeling a little silly, but I guess I will try and see this cafe as a game, a bit like an interesting story. An imaginary place you can visit to get some respite from whatever it is you are actually facing in life that seems like such a struggle or something like that.

So KT do you have any real cats? I really like cats, there bodies sort of just flop....

it was yummy! Well worth a try! I am normally gluten free but need to eat gluten for an upcoming blood test - so Yum, I am making the most of it!!!

Do you have an allergy to gluten or an intolerance to it yggy? So many people seem to these days.

Not sure, that's why we have to do more testing - but you can only get a reading if you eat gluten ahead of the test, so I decided to make at least the eating part the fun bit 🙂 I had severe IBS before starting ADs.
