The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

Happy New Year BBers and cafe critters!
How was your evening Sherie? I like karaoke, did you have a sing? Yggy I see you were last and first on Thread Killer, congratulations for making it to midnight!
Hiya Shell, KT, Wayne, CW and anyone lurking. How was your New Years Eve?
Bit of a late start for me this morning, too much sun yesterday I think. I stayed up (well, awake, I was in bed) to watch the fireworks from Sydney but had my nose in a good book and managed to miss most of it! Haha. I saw the kiddies and nannas fireworks at 9pm though, very nice.
Had a lovely day at the beach yesterday, got a bit sunburnt but that's OK. The water was still a bit cold for me but The Pom enjoyed splashing about. He can swim all year round - reckons the water temperature in winter here is still warmer than Scarborough UK in summer!
Well, coffee and assorted drinks are ready, toast is made. I'll feed the cats, I see we have a kitten! Sweet.
Hope you all have a lovely peaceful day.

Hi Kaz, welcome back. Glad you had a nice day yesterday.
I too watched the nanna's fireworks at 9pm. It was good. No I didnt do any Karaoke, too shy for anything like that. Dont like the attention. But its fun listening to everyone else.
I guess you've seen in your absense that The Cafe has become very definitely a Pet Friendly zone ... I will call in later and collect Holly's squeeky toy, Moo. She is missing him after leaving him behind on our last visit.
Hope to drop in later.
Sherie xx

Oh my head. So tired. Came in to grab something to help me wake up. Tomorrow may be more productive.
Ibs - I was prescribed ADs by the gut specialist (don't know what they r called) after I had a colonoscopy. This is prior to being diagnosed with OCD. They work wonders! If I am stressed, my IBS comes back. Not as bad as it was prior to meds but I still get it. Don't know if it's a common treatment but it helps.
tickle to mocha and latte. I have some toys for Holly that my old girl doesn't play with anymore. Will drop them in next time.
hope everyone had a great night.

Hi KT. It sounds like you had a big night last night? Good for you. Hope you are more awake after your Cafe visit. Oh and Holly says thanks for the offer of the hand-me-down toys, she'll love them. I didnt bring her today, but I must remember to collect Moo before I leave.
I'm just here looking for a quiet corner outside where I can switch off for a while. A banana smoothie sounds the go to help that process. Hope there's some 'real' full cream milk in the fridge! I already know there are banana's in the freezer ready to go. Just need a bit of vanila icecream to add to the blender now, and I'll be very happy. Ahhhh ........... beautiful.
Yeah like I said I am just looking to chill out for a while. Apologies in advance if you think I'm ignoring you, it is not my intention. Its just that, being an introvert, I need to recharge the batteries again. Socialising is such a draining thing, and I feel it just sucks me dry until there is nothing left. No doubt if any of you are introvert leaning people you will know exactly what I'm talking about. I often wish I could be extroverted like my husband. He just thrives on company and burns brightly with it. Me though, I can do it only for a certain time, before I just gotta get away on my own for a while. You might have gathered that I have just reached that stage! Too many outings, too many visitors, too much talking.
Just relaxing now ........ but may catch you later perhaps.

In my imagination
............I walk in the direction of the backdoor of the cafe, even though it is 2am in the morning, I can see where I am going because the way is lit by the bright white moon and the path that has small lights on the edges, which have been powered by the previous days sun. I walk along the path, trying to recall where the backdoor key is hidden. No need to recall, because there it is poking out a bit from under the large bird seed bell, that Kaz has left out for her cockatoo friend......
.......once inside the now lit cafe, I glance down and see the two little kitty cats curled up asleep in what looks like a jacket near the exit to the back door. So I decide to leave them. I walk over to the large rectangular table, and place my bundles down. I lift out three large loaves of fresh homemade bread. A jar of strawberry and rhubarb jam that mum made and a large basket that was holding a collection of seasonal fruit. I cover the bread, in case the kitty's get hungry. And walk back out the way I come in. I close and lock the backdoor turn of the light, place the key in the secret place. And make my way back up the path, pick an orange and pull out a weed that was growing inside the crack in the concrete path.............
Reality now, is it OK to write a little story every now and then in this thread, it sort of gives my mind a rest from other matters, especially at night when I can't sleep??
Hugs xxx
