Kanga I have a mulberry tree,it has started to fruit,is there anything I should do as last year it had what I think were silk worms. Or have I left it to late?

If pruning a mulberry only prune small lateral branches not much care required. during dryer months may need some watering. if you want more info go to Bunnings or a gardening center. Or try googeing it

Well Kanga's garden has been pretty quiet lately. I need the peace it offers today. Seeing as I'm stuck at home without a car (don't ask) and can't work at my block I'll work here.

I'll be over in the corner with my shovel building a bed for some blueberries. Know a few members who like them (Starwolf, Simona) and they're really so nice homegrown.

I'd like to plant a sandalwood. Smells amazing, goes for a few thousand AUS dollars 🙂

Also, my dad's favourite tree.

Although, it's a parasitic tree, so should I perhaps plant a jam tree to be the host?

A better host tree is a wattle tree for sandalwood.

Hi Kanga...I thought a jam tree was a wattle? We have a local jam wattle is all.

Headintheclouds there is a company called Eden Seeds that sells sandalwood seed. I got them to germinate by putting the seeds in a vice and just giving them enough to crack the seed coat. From 6 seeds I have 5 plants now so it does work.

I put in a Vertical garden and a worm farm so when I go fishing in my favorite spot I don't have to dig for worms plus I have fertilizer for my garden and less going into land fill what a winner

Sturts desert pea (Swainsona Formosa) isn't a week and fussy plant, having said that most people end up killing them with kindness.

Consider where they grow sure it gets dry but it also gets very cold too Alice Springs last week was under 4 degrees at night and that was still Autumn.

I know we cant post pics...but I will have a google moment re the Sturts Desert Pea! I was a dill and planted 4 conifers .....the big ones.....on a suburban block...oops....
