Friends Cafe - social space for members under 25

Hey! Welcome to Friends Cafe.

This is a chill and chat space for young BB members to talk about anything and everything and make new friends.

When school's getting to you, uni or work has got you down, parents, partners, friends don't understand, and especially if you're feeling alone or lonely - come and relax awhile and talk to others who know just how you feel.

Our minds can cause us trouble, but they can also be amazing things that imagine beauty, love and fun. This cafe has everything you can imagine. To start with it's, well, a cafe. So there's chairs and tables, comfy couches for flopping, a big screen tele, unlimited download on computers for games, Spotify (or an old-school jukebox if you prefer), every movie you can think of on instant demand ... whatever you want, it's here. Post and tell us what'd you'd like.

Plus, there's an infinite menu of whatever food or drinks takes your fancy. And it's all free!

To kick it off, today we have a special range of Monster Milkshakes - those thick gooey shakes topped with cronuts, chocolate bars, cake, cookies ... whatever you want. And if you can get through one of them, you're a legend (and probably feeling a little bit sick LOL!)

The HSC exams start tomorrow, and just in case I don't have the time tomorrow morning, I just wanted to say good luck and all the very best Demi!!! You've put in a lot of hard work and preparation over the years and especially the past few weeks for this, and I know that whatever happens, you will do great! We got this, let's smash it 😉

Hello everyone!

Thank you all so so much for your birthday wishes!! And Zeal, there definitely was cake at lunch and definitely chocolate! Excellent predictions haha.

From my family I got a book, chocolate, and tickets to see Delta Goodrem and Twenty One Pilots at their concerts!!! SOOOO EXCITED!! And at school I got a gorgeous unicorn necklace from a friend, and I also got a beautiful framed poem from my best friend (the one I've talked about a fair bit). Apparently theres a lot more presents to come on the weekend so I'm very lucky.

At school my locker got extravagantly decorated with unicorns (I'm known as a unicorn at school), chocolate, food, balloons, and another friend even made a cake! I ate so much 0_0 After school we had paint balling for the end of year function and that was so fun! I shot about 15 people and only got hit twice which I thought was pretty good. My mum brought cake to the paintball place as well so I had another celebration with heaps of girls from school and teachers.

I've got my party this weekend so I'll let you all know how that goes!

And one more thing: GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR HSC EXAMS!!! I know ahw and Demi have them, but anyone else who is reading (feel free to join in on the conversation you know), good luck to you also! I hope you all have a little confidence going into your exams, and that you do well!

Yay for accurately predicting the chocolate cake! 😛 The concert tickets are awesome, and it's hard to go wrong with a good book and some chocolate (or a lot of chocolate)! That framed poem is a beautiful and thoughtful gift. It sounds as though you two will be friends for many years to come. That's cool that you love unicorns and have a necklace to show it! Now your username takes on more meaning 🙂

The paintballing sounds like a lot of fun, and you seem to be rather skilled at it too! I've never actually tried it, but have seen it in movies (like in Ten Things I Hate About You). You must be so keen for your party this weekend - that will be great fun I'm sure!

You have some pretty awesome friends! They really went out of their way to make your birthday special. Wow, a unicorn locker ha, ha. You really are Dark_Unicorn 😉

Paintball sounds like it was a blast 😊 Ouch...hit twice...I hope you didn't bruise too badly. I have never been paintballing but know people who have been and even though they had fun, they also had bruises where they were hit 😂

Good afternoon everyone!

My party was so fun, although I am incredibly tired now. Running on about 3 hours sleep and I have to write an essay today! Once everyone arrived I did presents, and I got a lot of unicorn-themed items!! My two fave presents were from my two closest friends actually. The one who gave me the poem (let's call her A), did buy me the Cursed Child Script!!!! I can't wait to read it, omg! My other close friend got me some Twenty One Pilots merch which is so cool! 😱 I'm planning on definitely wearing some to the concert!

After dinner (pizza) and cake, we got the projector set up outside, and although it was pretty windy, we were in a fairly sheltered area so it was ok. We ended up watching a YouTube series called A Very Potter Musical which is absolutely hilarious 😂, and then later we crashed in the lounge room full of inflatable mattresses. I think we went to sleep about 3:30am? Then I was awake at about 6:30 which was just great. 😑 But we had pancakes for breakfast and they all left around 10 🙂

Now I'm trying to finish my essay and stay awake for the dinner tonight with extended family 😳 Such a full-on week!

That's enough about me...how is everyone else doing? If I'm right, I don't think the exams have started quite yet? If so, I hope you did well, and if not, then good luck!

Hey Tara,

I'm so glad you had a great birthday party! I can certainly relate to having only a few hours of sleep! My advice is to keep hydrated, have small snacks during the day, get up from your desk to move about from time to time, and have caffeine in moderation (and not late at night). My favourite source of caffeine is dark chocolate 🙂

That poem is certainly a beautiful and thoughtful gift that you can read whenever you need emotional strength.
I also like Twenty One Pilots, but I only know a few of their songs. I'm certainly not a true fan like you 😛 Watching shows on a projector is awesome. A high school friend of my boyfriend sets up a projector for playing old-school video games like Mario Kart haha.

Good luck with your essay Tara! It will be nice to have the family dinner tonight. My family had a dinner for my Dad's birthday last night at our house. My sister and two of my cousins had events they already said yes to, so they couldn't be there. So it was my parents, myself, my male cousin (same age as me), Aunty and Uncle, and my Grandparents (on my Mum's side). Usually our family get-togethers are bigger. It was great fun last night though. Lots of funny conversations happened, and my Uncle and Grandpa had some hilarious things to say!
I love it when people have a dry wit.
