Hey! Welcome to Friends Cafe.

This is a chill and chat space for young BB members to talk about anything and everything and make new friends.

When school's getting to you, uni or work has got you down, parents, partners, friends don't understand, and especially if you're feeling alone or lonely - come and relax awhile and talk to others who know just how you feel.

Our minds can cause us trouble, but they can also be amazing things that imagine beauty, love and fun. This cafe has everything you can imagine. To start with it's, well, a cafe. So there's chairs and tables, comfy couches for flopping, a big screen tele, unlimited download on computers for games, Spotify (or an old-school jukebox if you prefer), every movie you can think of on instant demand ... whatever you want, it's here. Post and tell us what'd you'd like.

Plus, there's an infinite menu of whatever food or drinks takes your fancy. And it's all free!

To kick it off, today we have a special range of Monster Milkshakes - those thick gooey shakes topped with cronuts, chocolate bars, cake, cookies ... whatever you want. And if you can get through one of them, you're a legend (and probably feeling a little bit sick LOL!)

Zeal, sage advice on getting through year 12. Also, thanks for the links. I know they were more for Ahw but I checked them out and they're very helpful for year 12 (and beyond) 😊

Demi, it's great that you've been trying to prepare for the HSC exams. You gave some very helpful and empathetic advice to Ahw. I particularly like your point about adaptability and having a rewards system 😊 Great stuff, Demi!

I just submitted an assignment yesterday (thank goodness!) and finished another one, which is due next week. So now the focus will be more on prepping for final exams. I do have one more assignment to go but that's not due for a while.

James, I love the owl profile image! Adorable! Your tutee is lucky to have your help. Playing the guitar sounds like a fantastic hobby. I hope you learn some new tunes or chords or whatever it is you're working on. Music is music and it's all good whichever way. Hope you enjoy snorkelling this weekend 😊

Ahw, I think James wrote the perfect reply to your post about your progress.

You're doing the best you can, given the circumstances, which includes your state of mind. I think that very few of us can do our absolute best at any given point in time; it's all relative and it's our best at the time that is worth striving for.

And I think that's what you've been doing- your best at the time- which is super commendable 😊 As James has already pointed out, reaching out and saying "I might not be as okay as you think I am" takes guts. So go you!

You're chipping away at your studies bit by bit so that's fantastic. You sat at your desk and you tried the other day. You are trying and that's the most important part.

I hope your Presentation Night rehearsal went well Yesteday. You certainly sound very busy ha, ha.

Loving your denim jacket collection, Tara! Rolling the sleeves up can completely transform a look and makes a jacket look more edgy (even though I know the main reason behind it was the sleeves are a bit short).

It seems like you and Ahw could almost share your black wardrobes...you two Queens of Cool ha, ha. Docs are awesome. Instant cool factor! They're getting pretty creative with some of their designs so credit to the Docs design team.

On a semi related note, I went through a period of wanting to be an architect or industrial designer in high school. I LOVE design and fashion. My thoughts on fashion and design: break the rules, make up your own 😉 And I've mentioned this before but I love modern art museums!

Thanks, I'll have to keep the Dilmah Russian Earl Grey in mind when I'm next at the shops 😊 Might be good for when I'm studying- you certainly have been enjoying this tea ha, ha.

Hello all 🙂 I hope you all had a lovely day! If not, I have a story that may lighten the mood haha

Yesterday, I was sitting outside in the sun, studying. And I, being the ULTIMATE noob I am, left all my study notes on the table and went inside for about 20 minutes... When I later, returned to the deck, half of my notes were gone... I looked around the deck, nothing. Then I lifted my gaze to see an abundance of white scraps sprawled across my lawn... I run outside to collect them, assuming the wind had blown them off the table, but no no. My puppy, had jumped up and taken them... and LITERALLY eaten half of my notes hahahahah You would think this would make me mad, or upset, but I honestly couldn't stop laughing (once I had gathered and re-written what was damaged of course) as it brought a whole new meaning to "my dog ate my homework."

Well, that's a little update on how productive my studying has been 🙂

Hey James, my sister also played Clarinet 🙂 I have been snorkeling once in the GBR but I hope to do it more post-HSC! I'll definitely look into the spots you reccommend 🙂

Glad you took it so well; I guess it's hard to be angry at an adorable puppy plus it was pretty funny 😉 Hope rewriting your notes didn't take too long.

I saw some friends last night so it was great to catch up and going to meet some friends later today.

Have a couple of hours to spare beforehand so I might check out an op shop or 2 to see if they have anything cool 😊

Good morning everyone!

So Presentation Night went really well! I stuffed up once (but I don't think you could hear it), no-one fell over (thank god) and all in all it was a successful night!!

Dottie - I only have one pair of Docs at the moment, but I am owed another pair 🙂 It's just a matter of choosing which ones!!

And wow! I think having either of those professions would be awesome. You are basically getting paid to design and create what you want!

I think I've been to a modern art museum (or I've at least been to an exhibition), and I can definitely see why people love it. It's so weird but cool at the same time? And since there are so many different styles that people are using now, I think this is the best era for personal art.

I seriously thought that only happened in movies! So I guess when I'm in Uni and I have a little nap during a lecture I won't feel as bad now haha 😛

Demi - OMG! I can't believe your puppy ate your notes! I hope they didn't take too long to rewrite 🙂 Thankfully my dog has never eaten homework, but he did steal a bag of chocolate hearts and ate them, foil and all! He also once ate an entire block of good blue cheese when we weren't looking 😁 He's a bit of a naughty boy but we can't be angry at him for long, he's just too cute!

I took your suggestion and went to some 2$ shops and we managed to get rainbow plates, cups, and bunting! So all good 🙂

Everyone - I'm in a super good mood today BECAUSE I GOT MY HAIR CUT!!! I'm so, so happy 😂 All my friends tell me it looks awesome so yay! I hope everyone else is having a good weekend and that study isn't too hard 🙂

Demi - thanks for telling us your amusing puppy story! Thankfully you took the situation in your stride and focused on the funny side.

ahw - we believe in you and know you can get through the rest of Year 12. You can come here as a distraction, and we'll do our best to take your mind off work temporarily. Entertaining stories like Demi's puppy one are perfect!

James, I hope snorkelling went well. Feel free to keep telling us about your drawings. I am not artistic, so I am impressed by people who are!

Dottie - you seem to be doing really well, which is great to hear! Hopefully you could find something you liked in one of the op-shops.

Grace - I hope your school holidays have been going well. Thinking of you.

Last night my Dad cooked a really nice roast chicken, and The Boyfriend (title courtesy of Dottie) came over for dinner. Tonight my parents, sister and I are going to eat at a local Thai restaurant. I always order the same dish every time: chicken with cashew nuts/veg. It's simple and it's always tasty 🙂 I was working on my prac proposal last night, and will do so again tonight after dinner. I often can't focus during the day, especially lately.
