Hey! Welcome to Friends Cafe.
This is a chill and chat space for young BB members to talk about anything and everything and make new friends.
When school's getting to you, uni or work has got you down, parents, partners, friends don't understand, and especially if you're feeling alone or lonely - come and relax awhile and talk to others who know just how you feel.
Our minds can cause us trouble, but they can also be amazing things that imagine beauty, love and fun. This cafe has everything you can imagine. To start with it's, well, a cafe. So there's chairs and tables, comfy couches for flopping, a big screen tele, unlimited download on computers for games, Spotify (or an old-school jukebox if you prefer), every movie you can think of on instant demand ... whatever you want, it's here. Post and tell us what'd you'd like.
Plus, there's an infinite menu of whatever food or drinks takes your fancy. And it's all free!
To kick it off, today we have a special range of Monster Milkshakes - those thick gooey shakes topped with cronuts, chocolate bars, cake, cookies ... whatever you want. And if you can get through one of them, you're a legend (and probably feeling a little bit sick LOL!)
Welcome friends.

Hey Dottie!
Haha I wouldn't quite say that! I know that especially with my friends I can be really weird 😛 And yes you really should check out their music! I think Halsey is probably the most similar music style to Mel out of that list...because Twenty One Pilots, Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco are a bit more on the rock side. If you like that then have a listen, they're great. Haha, I hope your birthday party goes well! I've got mine coming up actually (2 weeks!)

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your advice and kind words, I really, really appreciate it.
Tara! One of my friends in my friend group is always referred to as the mum of the group, and I really don't know what I would do without her always making sure we're safe and have everything we need. Your friends are lucky to have you! A Bachelorette party? That sounds like so much fun! I watched the first few episodes and it's pretty entertaining!
It's great that you like music and that you can play so many instruments! I used to play the piano, and currently play the violin, but I really wish I could sing! I also really like TØP and The Weekend!! And I know a few of FOB and P!atd's songs, but mainly only the older well-known ones. Good to hear you love your school, it still hasn't hit me yet that I'm never going back to mine haha!!
James, thanks so much! I hope you're well 🙂 Nice picture - did you draw it?? It's amazing!!!
Hey Grace! You're too kind. How you feel about your parents visiting is understandable, and I would feel the same way. And yeah, a lot happens in year 12, but it's definitely been one of my favourite years - you become closer to your friends and your teachers, and have a lot of fun!! I hope you've been feeling better these few days, my thoughts are with you 🙂
Zeal, thank you always for your advice and comfort! I find change to be frightening, but it's always happening, and I guess without it, life wouldn't be as exciting or interesting. Good to hear you liked the food 🙂 I actually really love spicy food haha! Hope you're going well 🙂
Dottie, I know someone who plays the electric violin, and it's so cool!
Take care everyone 🙂

Hey ahw,
Haha I was 'mum-ing' one of my friends just before I sat down to write this actually! And yes the Bachelorette is pretty funny. I mostly watch reality tv just to laugh at them 😛
I've attempted to play violin before....and let's just say my friend took it away from me pretty quickly...I don't think I'm much of a string player! TØP and The Weekend are awesome!!! Have you heard Weeknd's new song Starboy? Absolutely brilliant. I read that it's about life as a celebrity and how he feels about this newfound fame. I don't know a lot of FOB, but I do like them, and Panic! is sooo good! The last two albums are probably my favourites.
Haha yes one of my friends (who has left school now) says that she misses our school and sometimes still wakes up expecting to go, only to remember that she doesn't go there anymore!
Greetings to everyone else,
Tara xx

Hi everyone,
Tara, weird is the new cool so you're still the Queen of Cool in my eyes 😉 Cool, I'll have to check out Halsey some time. I don't mind Fall Out Boy either ha, ha.
Oh that's very exciting! Are you doing anything special to celebrate your birthday? Thanks, my 21st isn't till next year ha, ha. I do have a habit of the jumping the gun a bit with brainstorming ideas. That and telling people it's "soon" (even though it's not that soon).
Ahw, glad you have this electric violin playing friend (or whoever this person is)! That's awesome 😊 How are you holding up at school? You were (understandably) overwhelmed last we talked.
Zeal, James, Grace and everyone else- hope you're doing okay

Welcome Demi 🙂
Sydneysider here as well. I'm 24 and working full time at the moment.
I'm impressed you're both working and doing the hsc at the same time. I quit my job at KFC when I stated the hsc because I couldn't juggle both.
I woke up at 945 today so I'm super late to work haha. What kind of dogs do you have? I've got a little maltese x silky terrier

Hello again Dotti 🙂 Haha I feel like we met weeks ago because we have spoken so regularly since I joined last night. Haha yeah I am a tad busy; but not going to let that stop me from getting to know you guys more 🙂 Where abouts are you from Dotti? I also love dogs, although I think I have had the pleasure of having the widest variety of pets in my lifetime...
So far I've had 6 cats, 3 dogs, 6 guinea pigs, 3 rabbits, a stick insect, a snake, 3 geckoes, a pigmy bearded dragon and an abundance of fish... haha random I know. What kind of pets have you had/ if you could have any animal as a pet what would it be?
I hope you have a somewhat relaxing day and don't let all the advanced chemistry lingo get to you too much 😛 Good luck with your assignment! And I will definitely keep an eye our for Ahw, hope her studies are going well 🙂

Hi James 🙂 It's lovely to meet you!
Wow, you live in Sydney as well, that's awesome! Who knows, maybe one day we'll cross paths...or maybe we have and haven't noticed haha I know that's unlikely but you never know 🙂 How long were you working at KFC? Did you enjoy it; or do you much prefer your current occupation? Yeah, it is challenging at times, especially now that I am doing management shifts (4pm-12am/ 9am-5pm etc) but I'm the kind of person who thrives on juggling multiple tasks and usually gets bored when focusing all my attention in one area. I am lucky to have a store manager who allows me to choose exactly what shifts I am able to work, and is also very caring about checking in on how I am doing as I am currently supporting my younger sister is receiving counselling for depression.
Yeah you may be a bit late but I am sure the sleep in was definitely worth it hey? I currently have a Weimaraner named Chief who is 7yrs old and a Wolfhound/Greyhound named Doug who ironically was born on my 18th bday (May 17th.) What is your dogs name? 🙂
Unfortunately I have to get ready for work and don't finish until around 8:30pm but it was lovely talking to you both, I hope to continue to get to know you and meet everyone else in the chat eventually 🙂
Enjoy your shifts and goodluck with the assignment Dotti!
Seeya tonight,
Demi

Hey Demi
haha yes, I always half heartedly joke that we'll have a big BB (re)union in person one day and have a big group hug. half heartedly because I actually want it to happen!
I was at KFC for just over 1 year from year 10 to the beginning of year 12. We managed to have lots of people fired for stealing from the company, lol. I was on the front counter then "promoted" to drive thru. But realistically when you're on drive thru, you end up doing front counter work too which is pretty stressful.
I'm working at CBA (the bank) at the moment. Yeah, definitely prefer it to KFC - i seem to have a thing for acronyms - even if only because i don't go home smelling like food. But I'm in a role which does a lot of talking/communication, so I imagine if I was in a back office role I woiuldn't like that as much. I do prefer the interaction with people. Still, I've been here ~4 years and I've set myself an upper limit of 5 years, so I'll need a change. I've actually been considering going back to uni and doing either a post grad law degree or doing undergrad psych.
Sounds tough juggling work, school and also having your sister struggling with depression. Actually, sounds a bit like my sister, haha. She's younger than me and is also in year 12, but she only works one night a week doing gymnastics training. I pretty much keep all my own problems to myself but she's aware.
Aha when I think Doug the dog, I can only picture Doug from the movie Up. Definitely not a greyhound. Have you seen it? His name is Lockie, but I've taken to calling him Froggy or Froggers. He seems to respond to it, haha.
Oh boy that's a long shift. Have a good day and speak soon!
