Hey! Welcome to Friends Cafe.
This is a chill and chat space for young BB members to talk about anything and everything and make new friends.
When school's getting to you, uni or work has got you down, parents, partners, friends don't understand, and especially if you're feeling alone or lonely - come and relax awhile and talk to others who know just how you feel.
Our minds can cause us trouble, but they can also be amazing things that imagine beauty, love and fun. This cafe has everything you can imagine. To start with it's, well, a cafe. So there's chairs and tables, comfy couches for flopping, a big screen tele, unlimited download on computers for games, Spotify (or an old-school jukebox if you prefer), every movie you can think of on instant demand ... whatever you want, it's here. Post and tell us what'd you'd like.
Plus, there's an infinite menu of whatever food or drinks takes your fancy. And it's all free!
To kick it off, today we have a special range of Monster Milkshakes - those thick gooey shakes topped with cronuts, chocolate bars, cake, cookies ... whatever you want. And if you can get through one of them, you're a legend (and probably feeling a little bit sick LOL!)
Welcome friends.

Chris thank you for the reminder, I understand why this would be part of the community rules and sorry for not being aware of them! 🙂
Grace, I hope your exams are going well! I also enjoy the game cheat, I used to play it quite a lot with my friends, it's really fun! SM and Katy, I hope you are feeling better now 🙂 I like similar genres of books to you SM, and also sometimes like to read autobiographies, not very often though! Nelson Mandela's would be very interesting, I might try reading it one day! Although now I should be reading Hamlet for English at school haha...
I've been quite busy these days with the stress of the start of school and organising various other things! I am also doing Live Below the Line this week - where you feed yourself on only $2 a day (Australian equivalent to the global poverty line) for 5 days to fundraise for various projects which help those living in poverty. It's the second day and it's so much harder than I thought it would be haha! Challenging, but eye-opening 🙂
Take care everyone, and remember to be kind to yourselves 🙂

Hi ahw and other online friends,
It seems that many of us like the game Cheat!
Thanks for asking ahw - I am doing better lately. I had my second appointment with my new psychologist today, and I definitely feel comfortable talking to her and like what she has to say. I have been in a better headspace since having my first appointment with her just over two weeks ago. I think just having that professional support is great right now.
Nelson Mandela's autobiography is a lengthy and detailed read ahw, so if you do decide to read it, I recommend doing so in the school holidays or when you have a little more time! I read it during my uni holiday about three years ago. I read Hamlet in Year 12 - it's not a bad read. It's certainly dramatic, as all Shakespeare's plays are!Good on you for doing Live Below the Line ahw! I think I would really struggle with it, so I hugely respect people who are able to get through the work week on very little for the sake of fundraising.
Like ahw, I hope you're doing alright now Katy. And Grace, we are all thinking of you during your exam period 🙂
I hope everyone else is doing well too! Anyone is welcome to chat here. I mention specific people in my posts, as we reply to each other regularly. However, others are very welcome to join in the conversation. If you just drop in to say hi now and then, that's completely fine. Some people's schedules make regular contact difficult.
All the best everyone,
SM

Hi! It's been a while so I hope everyone is going well and being good to themselves!!
SM, so glad to hear you had been doing better and feel comfortable with the new psych! That's great 🙂 I do really like Shakespeare's works, he is extremely intelligent and creative, but sometimes hard to understand!!
I have also realised, pouring some dog food into this bowl here, I still don't think we've given our puppy a name yet!!
I had been struggling to find motivation to do any work for school at all, but today (despite only having 2 hours of sleep last night... oops) I am feeling a bit more motivated! After I finish this iced mocha I'm drinking I will get started on a chemistry assignment I got today 🙂
Take care everyone!

Hi you guys. I hope you are all healthy and happy?
I am just wondering if anyone has heard from Grace since 29th April?
I'm just a bit concerned that we havent heard from her since then.
So Grace, if you are reading this - hope your exams went well, and that everything is okay for you.
Concerned .........

Hi everyone!
ahw - I'm glad you have an open mind and are being positive! Getting started on an assignment the day you receive it is very proactive! 😄 It's great that you're studying chemistry too. That's a subject I struggled to grasp and then avoided in high school!
Thanks for your kindness Sherie. I also hope Grace is doing well. I imagine school must be quite busy.
I hope everyone is as happy and well as possible 😄

Hello everyone!
Thought I'd join the Cafe 🙂 I'm 19yrs and currently doing my second year at uni (Motion Graphic Design) and loving it! I do suffer from anxiety and have always struggled to find the right crowd to talk too. I always felt like an outcast most of my life.
Hope all are well.

Hi North Shore Citizen!
Welcome to the cafe!!! It's so great to have you here! As you can see, you can do almost anything you like here at the cafe, and it's always open!
It's really nice to hear you're loving your second year of uni! Motion graphic design sounds super interesting, but I don't know much about it. What kinds of things do you learn about?
Hope you are doing well and I look forward to getting to know you better and hearing about some of your interests 🙂

Hi Sherie 🙂 I too was wondering how Grace was doing and hope she is well... it's been quite a while! SM is probably right about school being busy!
SM, thank you for your kind words! It's strange, lately a few people have commented on my positivity. I think my outlook has improved a lot, as a few months earlier my mind was completely consumed by negative thoughts! How have you been lately?
It's been pretty quiet in the cafe the past few weeks, I hope everyone is doing ok and taking care!

Hi ahw309. I just wanted to reassure you that Grace is okay. She has briefly called into the other Cafe during the past week. She was busy with exams for 3 weeks and she had been having a bit of a hard time of late as well. She said she didnt want to bother any of us with her down mood. She is typically such a bright and bubbly young lady. But from what she said, she is feeling a little better again. I'm sure she will be back here again soon too.
And a big welcome to NorthShoreCitizen as well. Good to hear that you are loving your second year of uni. And you will never be made to feel like an outcast here on the Forums. I see that you've had a few posts already, and I hope that you have found the Forums experience of benefit to you.
I have just stoked the big open fire, and added another big log of wood to keep the home fire burning. Perhaps you can all toast some marshmellows over the fire this evening? And I've left some music playing on your jukebox. A few tracks of Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison. Not exactly your era I know, but I like it. (-: Please change it to something else you do like.
Sherie xx
