Dear Moon~

When you think about all you have had to do i think you have come through magnificently. I'm glad yo managed to sort out cat accommodation too.

All this has been an emotional roller coaster wiht complications  on scheduling, contingency planning, budgeting and even selecting pleasing gifts.

After all that anybody would feel tired and wrung out - you are entitled. While all this  may set your mind to worrying I hope, like the gentle rain from heaven, calm and rest cover you.

You are no fool, there is not one person in twenty that will praise themself

Dear All

It certainly took a long time but as you can see from the 'gone fishing' logo going I'm back in busines. All I can say is thank goodness for a wood fire. I feel really sorry for all those that relied on electricity for heating.

Welcome back Croix.

I hope you noticed that your iceberg has been buffed & polished.  The inebriated kiwis came to no harm being used to dust & are quietly snoring in sync in the corner out of your way.  What other treats await you will no doubt reveal themselves as you settle back in.

Thank you Paws~

That sounds most welcome HOWEVER you did no mention the penguins, I suppose it is standing room only by now.

Hello Croix, Paws & everyone

I've taken up Para Power Lifting, (very similar to Bench Pressing) with the aim in mind to simply swim backstroke, under water, & lift one corner of the iceberg & tip everyone off! But no panic - considering how much a loaded iceberg weighs I will be still in training well into the second half of this century.

Next, I want to have a go at Boccia, which is a lot like indoor lawn bowls - wonder what I can do with the skills I might learn, eh???

& yeah, Croix, I think I'd like a Blues Brothers tribute band much more than Elvis. For the Elvis tribute, I've been practicing my leg shaking dance & my "ah-huh-huh"s

It's not so much that I like all the music I'm hearing at these clubs - it's tht the songs are so very familiar, hving heard them so many times on the radio when I was young. Then realising how much of the lyric I remember, as well as much I've forgotten too - it makes me laugh, just trying to sing along, given how I have to sing an octave lower & stumble over the words.

Big hugzies to you all - kiwis included!

Dear mmMekitty and all~

I think my iceberg is safe, as most of it is below the surface it might be a bigger job to tilt it than you imagine. Mind you if you did succeed all the penguins would slide off:)

Wiht Boccia you could have 10-penguin bowling, though I doubt they'd cooperate and stay still but hide behind my igloo.

I went to a Blues Brothers tribute a couple of years ago, excellent. they even had me singing along, which is a major triumph considering like all walruses I'm shy. They did give one disappointment, rather than their signature tune "Riders in the Sky" they sang the theme from Rawhide...which come to think of it fits in well here:

"Bowling, bowling, bowling, get those penguins moving - don't hide!"

Hello Croix, MK, Paws and All,

The original Blues Brothers film is one of my all time favourites, especially in terms of films with many musical interludes. They somehow fitted so many great musical artists into one film. The other musical film I really enjoyed, even though sad in parts, was Rocket Man about the life of Elton John. I haven't seen a Blues Brothers tribute but I'm sure it would be fun.

The scene in the church in the Blues Brothers with the gospel choir and James Brown as the preacher has given me inspiration. MK, how about we turn the iceberg into a gospel extravaganza combined with Boccia? In the scene from the movie James Brown begins his sermon with "Well I woke up this morning and I heard a disturbing sound". I can just imagine Croix waking up and saying much the same thing when he hears our plans unfolding. Just as in the movie, the congregation can go crazy doing backflips and triple summersaults. It will be a frenzy of multiple penguins and kiwis all seeing the light, just like in the film. The penguins can build a giant pyramid as part of their congregational acrobatics - easy done as there are so many of them. The kiwis will simply be awed by the experience and stare in stunned wonder at it all. Some penguins will be attempting to dislodge the giant penguin pyramid with Boccia balls. It will be precarious and thrilling entertainment. While practising your power lifting under the iceberg MK, you may be able to tilt it ever so slightly that the pyramid begins to tip, sending penguins tumbling everywhere! Penguins are very good at landing and bouncing so none will get hurt. It will just be a spectacular kerfuffle.

So go my thoughts...

Hugzies,

Dear ER and all~

Hmm, I guess if you are going turn the iceberg into a chapel I'm going to ask Brother Lee Love (aka Kenny Everett) to use his huge hands to sweep all your shenanigans off the iceberg (except the inebriated kiwis who just loll in corners in the round igloo and never annoy anyone.)

Kenny had an amazing repertoire of characters.

I also liked not only the original Blues Brothers film with James Beluchi and Dan Ackroyd as well as James Brown, Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker.

The 2000 fim surprisingly being just as good with John Goodman being a great replacement for Beluchi. There are simply to many other musical guests to list.

Fun with music too

Dear Croix and All,

I have just a vague memory of the Kenny Everett Show from when I was a child. I just googled Brother Lee Love and found a bit of a segment with the giant hands in the church. The penguins are now trembling as they anticipate being swept of the iceberg and are working on a Plan B 🐧😦🤔

Yes, the Blues Brothers was incredible for the number of absolutely classic musicians who appeared in it. I'd like to see the 2000 film too. The musical scenes from the original film are so much fun. The Shake a Tail Feather one with Ray Charles comes to mind, but so many others too.

I'm glad you have your electricity, phone, internet etc back now Croix. It would have been quite difficult there for a while.

Sleep well and hugs everyone,

ER
