Dear Moon~

Yes this is my main thread which as you can see is not that busy, I've been posting a bit, mainly to people that have just joined up and that's taken my concentration away from others.

I've been meaning to ask you if you managed to stay out of that family situation, it did not sound like one where you could easily sort it, just get more grief.

Have you lined up another tournament yet? I believe bowling has a long and valued history - going back at least as far as Elizabethan times (Sir Francis Drake?)

Dear DB et al.~

I thought I'd get a bite about the mythical kiwis.

I'm glad the migraine has finally let up, horrible things. You guessed right I'm on my old easy chair and Sumo Cat is right beside me on the sofa. The fire has burnt down to a bed of hot coals that throws out almost too much heat - not that Sumo minds).

I used to enjoy Chuck Norris too, but found that Walker Texas Ranger started out pretty good but by Seasons 7 or 8 it was the same thing again and again - plus he was starting to look as elderly as me:) Not convincing when taking on half a dozen baddies at once.

One series I wish there had been more of was Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister. Appeals to my British background I guess and is too true in places -unfortunately. I remember St Edward's Hospital which won an efficiency award, although fully staffed they had not even been opened and had no patients!

Have not seen Breath or The Mentalist. I did see Solo, which was OK. I found it amazing they found an actor that looked as pleased with himself as Harrison Ford to play his part.

Aaaaargh! Croix take it back (sobs). Please for the love of all that is holy tell me you did not just besmirch the good name of Walker!

On that note I heard on the radio Chuck Norris is coming to Perth. I may have to stalk him haha (just joking) but in all seriousness hubby adores Walker. He has one of Chuck Norris' books and it is so well loved it's falling apart. Walker and TinTin... The glue that holds our house together 😊

Dear Natalie et al~

Sorry about that, sadly most good things have a natural span and I think Mr Norris has reached the end of wackem's. Still he has a rich life outside TV and is a noted philanthropist, as well as being an ex-policemann, so one could do worse than like him. Mind you if you look carefully you might just see the shadow of his wheelchair waiting in the wings at times in those later episodes:)

Tintin is pretty good, I'd agree. I first came across M Hergé and his hero in back issues of The Eagle (a boys' comic) in the 50's. Still as good today. I do prefer Asterix though. The drawings are more complex and I love the puns (Cacofonix, Gluteus Maximus and so in). Takes a lot of thought to translate without losing the fun.

Asterix is another enjoyed in our house but TinTin is the clear favourite. The comics are fabulous but the DVDs are great too.

My favourite character is definately Captain Haddock. Noone is king of the insult quite like him. If you check tintinologist.org you'll see his list of every insult in the comics. 213 of them.

it came on top of that ghastly week of family falling out....A was going on a long trip....I was agonising if B would at least text to say Goodbye and wish A well. just before he left I couldnt bear the tension within me any more and texted B simply saying "A is leaving for ......tonite"....no answer.......next day he replied saying "Yes I know, I texted him".....so that's something at least....both A and B seem busy and getting on with their lives......

I am noticing I am beginning to overthink and imagine in a more and more paranoid way...it seems to be increasing...I was not like this when younger...I seemed quite adventurous and eager about life...not "imagining the worst" like I do now.. ......thank you for your concern and wise words....and just for the record, the coming bowls tournament does go back as far as, (or nearly anyway)...Elizabethan times..'ava good weegend"

I'm very pleased yo have lined up another tournament, they do you good. I don't think I need to wish you luck, I'm sure your success is based on other things.It's good you can take a step back from those family problems, as you say they seem to be getting on with their lives anyway.

I'm not sure what to say about you thinking you are overthinking:) Perhaps as one approaches a more mature age experience lets us know what can go wrong, hopefully it also lets us know of the potential for the good to happen too.
