Thanks

Dear Croix....I'll be busy enough don't worry. I'll have lunch with a couple of family members who have also lost partners so have no one else ...it'll be very quiet but phone calls from sons will brighten us all up. Also have very active week in my other little "interest" just to round off a ghastly year for us...(hopefully back to normal for my tribe next year in that arena thank God)....so good to be back with folk I love, and who speak my language!!

I've been tempted to reply to a comment you made last time about sometimes I would inevitably "be disappointed in how I perform" in my bowling.....at the risk of sounding super-conceited can I whisper to you alone, that no, that isn't the case at all!

It's the one area, the only one in my life...where I just "know" I'll give a good one. It has nothing to do with positive thinking, saying affirmations, it's more than that Croix...I just "know it"...like I know the tide will go out when it comes in, the sun will rise in the morning and go down at night....

There is never any doubt in my mind at all that I'll be less than great.. never has been. Funny that hey? and this from someone who is scared to drive into a strange or different servo for petrol; or a shopping centre I've never been before and don't know where to park....terrifying ordeals for me!!

Have a wonderful Christmas Day Croix...I know you will...Mrs Croix loves you.......x

Dear Moon~

I've more than glad you have the day filled with pleasant company, I hope it is perfect.

As for having that complete and utter faith your performance will never be less than great.

I've never experienced that and in a way am jealous, to have one constant area of confidence in a life of waves, wonderful~

Thankyou for your kind and understanding words, as per usual. So poignant really.

I Pray you'll recover from the ill health you're experiencing atm, so we can read your beautiful, comforting, supportive words for many years to come!

Hey Moon, thinking of you also at this time. Hugs.

Love to you both / all

Dear Grandy, DB, Moon, EM and All

Christmas time, both for those for whom it is a religious festival and for most others is fraught with expense, conflicting arrangements and often conflicting families.

This year made worse by the current confusing mix of travel restrictions.

To all of you I wish a time of peace not only from all those hassles but a time without mental or physical symptoms to have to cope with. I hope you are loved and valued as you deserve

Croix (Who does not think Fortnum & Masons Luxury Hamper series is in the least poignant, but palatable, piquant and peng.)

Merry Christmas to you too Croix.

Thanks for "being there" for so much of this for me at the very least.

I appreciate your support, wisdom, friendship and wacky intelligent humour also.

Thankyou for everything. I really appreciate you.

Dear All~

Thank you all, I'm however I'm afraid you make me up to being something I don't realy deserve. You seem to forget that each of you (yes, you too Moon) help others -a lot. Sometimes just be example, sometimes with advice, sometimes by recounting your past.

Walruses have their place, but so do you all. You may only talk directly to individuals in their threads, but whenever you do you are helping the vast numbers (and they are vast) who silently read and never post themselves -perhaps because they need go no further than read your words and the array of user problems you deal with

Hey Croix.....got any of that Fortnum & Mason hamper left to share with me? It's December 27 Croix...yesterday was December 26!!! Oh Joy, oh relief...I am in just the mood to celebrate these past 2 days now and I am telling people how important they are to me...left right and centre!! Why? Because no one is pressuring me to, that's why? Oh the feeling of freedom, the huge weight lifted from my shoulders.......it's over Croix, it's over!!!

I have Love Actually that I intend to play over and over again now that I can really enjoy it without any pressure.......LOVE that movie.......no one on TV yet so far today has told me yet again how "Christmas is a time for love love love and happy happy families" Thank God they've let it go before the torture begins all over again next year...........yes Croix, let's get into the Fortnum & Masons....which is better, theirs or Harrods?

Dear Moon~

Ah - the trick is not to be overwhelmed by those that have a general reputation for excellence , and go with those that really do one thing well

Harrods is a fine store with tradition and flexibility. I beleive it lead the way on children's toys, with the story Winnie the Poo inspired there however F&M are the people for a hamper. You can even order one with a little spirit stove for making tea (Darjeeling, Earl Grey or China - with milk or lemon of course to sip in bone china) and a multiple layer stand for cucumber sandwiches and of course macaroons.

Beats a pint and chip booties any day.

Back to Love Actually again:)

Yes I should have remembered...Fortnum & Mason...the very name is synonomous with "hampers" isn't it. Wonder if London will ever get back to its glory...after their CoVid situation.
