Dear All~
It's nice to see you all and think it lovely you came here.
I had a change this new year already. Normally I try to walk up the street in the evening for exercise, it is mostly pretty boring as there is a block and a half of houses before getting to the two paddocks at the end. I spend most of the time looking forward to getting to the paddocks to see if there are any possums, bandicoots or other wildlife.
Instead my partner took me in her car to a riverbank where we walked along an easy path beside it. She had remembered some stale bread and we fed ducks, geese, cooks, native hens and little baby birds, with Foxy Dog held back at a distance.
Then we walked along, and saw what looked for all the world like a toy boat motoring though the water, it was a platypus. Not something I see every day. A lovely way to start the year.
DB: yes the power poles have metal bands to stop possums climbing up, seems to work.
Grandy: do you like a mix of liqueurs, or one particular sort in your chocolates?
Geoff: I hope you and your little dog had a good new year's eve.
