We recognise that many of us here in the community are feeling scared, worried and overwhelmed about Coronavirus (COVID19).

As a result, we created this thread to allow people to come together here during those difficult times and encouraged those wanting to share or seek support to do so here in this space.

It was important with this thread that we maintained perspective and supported each other as best as we could, medical, scientific and public health experts around the world have and still are working hard to contain the virus and treat those affected.

The Beyond Blue Support Service is available via phone 24/7 on 1300 22 4636 or via beyondblue.org.au/get-support for online chat.

Hi Elizabeth CP,

Outrageous - & even if I wanted, I don't think I could've come up with such a mess... makes me wonder how many other people are going through something similar?

It must've been so exhausting for you, too.

Hope some virtual hugs for both of you help a little.

& I get what you are saying about protecting myself as much as possible - it's that I don't have real control over others, if they aren't so mindful.

I did get a third dose, given my diagnosis of breast cancer last November, so I had it before I went into surgery. I wonder about whether or not I could/should get a fourth? & for the flu? Since I am not going out much, once a week one or to two places, maybe three if we're quick... how much risk is that?

I'm going to have to talk to my GP again, about what's ahead for this year, what might be best.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😺

Thanks MMMekitty, Yes a disaster. I wonder how many others get incorrect results but don't know so after isolating they think they are safe for a few months because they've been infected but they haven't or people getting neg results and not isolating when they are infectious. I don't understand why there isn't a simple way for someone to fix things when they have made a mistake. We only knew about the error because he was in hospital and so they got the conflicting results from their lab and could check but most people can't do that. Still haven't had confirmation from the dept that it has been sorted.

Fresh air flow dilutes any nasties and blows them away so where possible socialise outside or have windows open when possible to reduce risk. this applies to any potential infections which could be lurking. My hsb is blind and vulnerable due to medical issues so family support workers and friends are aware of his risks so are extra cautious and won't come near if there is any chance they could be sick with anything. Anyone I'm not sure will be as careful as I'd like are only seen outside where we can spread out if we really need to see them.

Elizabeth,

I'm sad this happened to you. How stressful for you. I hope you are able to find some calm.

Hi All, I just wonder whether the people who have had the 3 injections have sore joints, as in hands, legs and/or knees because there are a few people I've spoken to and who have had the injections are complaining of this happning to them.

l only got the booster Geoff bc l was going up to Sydney and l wasn't sure if motels would insist on full vax. l'm not getting the forth one though , enough jabbing already.

But nope l had nothing after 24hrs. l did get the really run down no energy thing first day, but that was it. Completely normal again once that passed.

Hi Geoff

I got all three, felt like crap for about three days after each injection but afterwards didn't feel any different to the usual.

Same for the rest of my extended family members (we have several vulnerable people in our family so our whole extended family decided to take all three to keep the vulnerable ones safe), some didn't even feel unwell initially, just sore arm for a couple of days, otherwise we all went back to normal self afterwards, no complaints of any different aches and pains we don't usually have.

Hope that helps

I have had all three shots. It was imperative for me to have them as I live and work with vulnerable people and also was compulsory for me to resume work post lockdown.

My first shot I was tired and rundown for a day. maybe a day and a half, before completely returning to normal.

Second shot was a non event, did not have any effects at all.

Booster knocked me around for a day or two, then completely back to normal. Had it on a Friday to minimise disruption for work, returned to work after shot, but the effects kicked in during the evening. I would of had a day or two off if it was earlier in the week.

Life is almost normal for me now, back at work 4 days a week with the 4th day split over two days (Thurs and Fri mornings). I like having the heavy load in the first half of the week, then the taper off at the end. Having renovations at home and the less time spent at home, the better!!!

Hi rx,

I followed this thread a lot during our lockdowns and saw you as a frequent contributor to the discussions. I liked your openness and matter-of-fact way of describing things.

I checked in recently and saw you hadn't been here for a little while and wondered if you were ok. Then I saw your April 2022 post and, even though I don't know you, I felt happy to see that you had popped in 🙂

Hope you're well and are having a nice week.

Hi Guest_342

You are spot on where RX is concerned. He is a senior contributor on the forums and always speaks from the heart

Oh, Covid strikes again and again.

I had a terrible time with Covid in January.

Since then I had a third booster.

So, Monday a rep from another Co. pops into my office for a catch up. The rep is triple vaxxed too.

This morning I get a call that this rep has tested positive for Covid and will be off work for 2 weeks recovering.

We all scrapped mask wearing and now I sit and wait in limbo.

Seems like we have to do our own contact tracing now too.

I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. I am at work and can’t afford to get sick again. I am just barely making enough money to just keep myself afloat.

This pandemic isn’t over yet!
