Bill
welcome to the forum and thanks for reaching out.
You are lucky you are having a formal as I thought all formals were cancelled.
During these times most people can anxious if the sneeze or cough.
would wearing a mask help you worry less.
i suppose if you do everything you can to be healthy and follow hygiene rules, that should help you
I hope you enjoy your formal.

Hi Bill,
I understand your worries..... I too had ocd... I’ve recovered from it now...
when you have worrying thoughts try to re direct your attention to the present moment...and not on your thoughts...
focus on something you are doing.... practice mindfulness.... if you are walking .. how do your feet feel? What can you hear? What can you smell?
if you are seeing a phycologist they will be able to help you with some stratergies...
try thinking positive..... you will have a great night and everything will be ok 😄 enjoy your formal...

Hi bill,
It does sound like you are really anxious and concerned for your health.
Are you aware of what is making your Mum sick?
Is it possible for you to practise good hygiene in and around the house? Washing our hands and drying them properly and wearing a mask will help.
Are there tasks within the home you can do instead of your Mum having to them, that way Mum will be touching less stuff in the house and keeping the environment clean will help too.
Can you write down your anxious thoughts and then consider ways to minimise those things actually happening?
Hope you find ways to reduce your anxiety. Petal22 offered you some great suggestions earlier. Have those things worked for you?
Cheers from Dools

Hi Bill1234’5s
Sorry you are feeling this way.... I understand it can be very distressing when we have ocd thoughts.....
have you tried practicing the strategies I gave to you in my earlier post? Try re directing your thoughts ...... put you attention on maybe going outside and feeling the sun on your skin and the Sounds you can hear....
Have you seen a clinical phycologist in regards to your ocd? Or a phycologist who specialises in ocd? They can help you with strategies 😊

Hi bill12345, welcome.
I would suggest going to your GP and getting a checkup, to ease your mind, if you wish. COVID is making everyone scared they'll get it so you're not alone.
Have fun at your formal, and fingers crossed you don't get sick.
