Hi K-R,
Welcome to the forums, I am very glad you found your way here.
Firstly, I am sorry to hear about your fall and the subsequent attempts to correct the damage. I am sure you are in pain and we don't realise how much we rely on a limb until we can no longer use it for a period of time.
I can understand the pressure you are feeling from the Work Cover people, but I want you to know that they are just doing what they do. They want to get you back into the work force so they don't have to keep paying you. I had a similar experience with Centrelink many years ago and went through 2 years of appeals to have a decision overturned. They also had evidence from several sources that I was unfit for work which they ignored. The thing is, I knew what they were doing and I was not prepared to give up and allow their ignorance to win the day. I was fortunate to have a doctor presiding as the judge in my hearing and he overturned their decision.
I know this is a different scenario to yours, but the mindset is what I am referring to. They can only break you if you allow them to. The bullying and pressure is designed to make you back down, but you have a choice. You can allow their behaviour to bring you to your knees, or, you can see what they are doing for what it is and stand your ground. You are doing nothing wrong and you are right, they don't know you and have no intention to know you. They are just doing what they do with every other person.
You have every right to remain on work cover until your doctors give you the all clear. Remind them of this fact when they start pressuring and do your best not to let their ignorance get under your skin. They can only break you if you let them, don't let them. You know who you are, be proud of who you are and make a stand, become your own advocate and say no to allowing them to bring you down. Put your time into things you love to do, bring yourself back up by reminding yourself you are worth more than they will ever give you credit for.
I hope this helps a little and please feel free to continue this conversation if you wish. We will be here to support you when you need us.
Take good care of yourself,
indigo 💜
