Whats wrong with me

inferiore03
Community Member

I always used to be scared of growing up alone and terrified of rejection but for a while things were good I managed to have a few relationships and hook ups even be some what confident but since I ended my last relationship I have completely forgotten how to talk to anyone and ive gone so long with out any form of human contact that even though i crave it, it also makes me uncomfortable.

I guess part of me wishes i never did hook up or have a relationship because now I know what im missing out on  Ive come to the conclusion that I will be alone forever and not because im not good enough for someone but just because I'll never be able to put my self out there to meet anyone and even give it the chance of happening.

I just feel like as a 22 year old I should be having the best time of my life not scared to even look at someone or leave my room.

Hello Dear inferiore03,

A very warm and caring welcome to our forums…

Im sorry your struggling so much with rejection….

I had a time a few years back, where I totally isolated myself from everyone…too scared to talk to people lead me to being extremely anxious of talking to strangers… depression hit hard..I ended up reaching out to my Dr. and was totally honest and open with her…she started me on a mental health care plan, which entails 10 free visits to a psychologist…It was the best thing I could do for my mental health…and it helped me to learn coping strategies as well as how to start talking to people again…..Is this something that you might consider?…It’s really very hard to try to fix* ourselves…..

I now volunteer 3 days a week at a local charity store…it was very hard at first, I had panic attacks at times, but thanks to my physiologist, I learnt how to manage them…I’ve been their now for 6 years and am actually quite comfortable most times….I still do feel anxious at times, but I’m doing well…..Proof to me that anxiety and isolation can get better with professional help…

How are you feeling today….hear if you want to talk some more..

My kindest thoughts dear inferiore, with my care..

Grandy..
