We all need love and compassion

This post is appropriate to the depression forum too.

From reading posts on here, from one or two friends and from my own experiences, I  am staggered at the horrendous suffering we experience with mental illness. I could cry for us all. And in a way I should because we have to be the compassion for each other. What we live with is unseen by others and so unaccepted. Despite caring family and friends I do not feel a true part of society.  Take care, all of us  xx

Dear all

Helen, you’ve created an awesome thread here and it has been really wonderful to be a part of.

I am so pleased that we’ve had others enter our ‘room’ (thread) and join in.  It’s brilliant to have others come in and post with some great comments as well.

And also in a similar vein to what Mary wrote, it would be interesting to know how many people are actually (let’s keep with the analogy here) of entering the room and perhaps standing behind the chairs?  Ie:  people who just come to this thread, have a read and move on to another thread.  So to take in what’s being said, not say anything, but to acknowledge the posts by reading them.  And I’m saying this in the best possible way as well – as in, I imagine there might be a lot of people who do this and boy oh boy, I really hope that there is and that they are deriving benefits and positives from this site as well.

I think the more people who can ‘enter the room’ the better – cause let’s face it, this illness isn’t going to go away any time soon, so the more we can do to help out others in any possible way, then that can only be a good thing, right?

Ok, I feel like I’m rambling again – time to get to the Christmas forum area to wish everyone a happy Christmas (as best possible) and a very Merry New Year.

Hello to everyone,

I hope Christmas went as well as is possible for everyone.     I saw one of my brothers who I haven't seen for a while. We both love Shakespeare but he's the very knowledgeable one.  Over here Macbeth  was made into a film and I saw it at the pictures last month. The director was an Australian guy but I don't know his name.  It was very stylized (so my son said). It was all filmed on the Isle of Skye and the weather was misty with various types of rain. In one scene it wasn't raining and at another bit we almost saw the sun.  So I would say it could have been filmed at any time of year. It was a fantastic film so well done to your director, I hope he wins an award.

Anyway my son got me a copy of the play and a book of revision notes so I can understand the play better.  My anxietys been getting me down a lot lately. So it was strangely comforting to be able to think,  'well at least I'm not Macbeth'. If you know the story you will undoubtedly agree. Duncan, King of Scotland, comes as a guest to his Castle, and in order to get to the throne, Macbeth murders him in his bed. He'd been wrestling with his conscience and decided that he wouldn't do it.  However Lady Macbeth tells him he's a coward and she's certainly hit the right spot. Macbeth is not normally a bad person and Duncan was a really good guy so you can imagine what this does to Macbeth. There are three witches who have been messing with his head, so they along with his good lady wife have led him astray for sure. It all gets a whole lot worse. Macbeth has to kill the two servants who were at the King's bedside. Then he has to have has friend Banquo killed because the witches have suggested he'd become king.  Then, on finding Macduff has gone to England to form an army to fight him, Macbeth has his family killed. Meanwhile Lady Macbeth goes mad and dies. So I would say that Macbeth has got a whole lot of issues that do not make for peaceful living.

And let's face it, if he posted on here, where would we start. I think I would  say,    Hi Macbeth, I'm really sorry I'm just about to go out. But I just wanted to say hello, and well done for coming on here.

Dear all

My name is Macbeth.

I have a yearn for power and I don’t care what I have to do
to get it.

I must confess that I’ve killed a fair number of people now
in order to get this power bestowed upon me.

Am I wrong?  Should I
feel guilt?

I’ve come to these threads not to ask for forgiveness but to
say that I’m not sleeping as well as I should at night.

Does anyone else experience this?

Signed

Macbeth

Dear Helen

I wonder if the above post would be something that this mad
person would have sent.  Personally, I doubt
he would have – people of that nature do not think they are mad – they are just
after achieving their own personal goals and heaven help whoever gets in their
way.

So for me, I didn’t know the story of Macbeth;  I knew the names, etc never what it was all
about, so thanx for the rundown.

Christmas is over for another year and now we’re into that
strange time in between Christmas and New Year where everything is quiet and
for me, every day feels almost like a Sunday.

Cheers

Neil,

You really made me laugh. That's brilliant humour.

'I'm not sleeping as well as I should at night.'!

I did share Macbeth's post with my Mum. (sorry Macbeth). She thought it was great.

This spell is a sort of limbo. Normal life is suspended. We tend to slum about. Then, as happened a wee while ago, someone we know pops in and I wish the carpet wasn't so desperate for a hoover, that there weren't mugs and glasses everywhere,  that those two T towels, the top and the scarf that I bought from the charity shop weren't strewn around me on the floor.

Away from Macbeth and my slovenlyness. I hope everyone had a peaceful Christmas and is having the opportunity to relax. And I hope 2016 brings us all improved health and we continue to help each other   x

Thankyou Helen, and the same to you .......

Sherie x
