Hi people,
A bit of background, I have severe anxiety and PTSD and health anxiety too. My anxiety goes straight to my stomach since experiencing my trauma many years ago. Lately like since last December sometimes when I use the bathroom for number 2s I have a small streak of blood on my stool. I noticed it happens when my stool is a bit hard or if I’m straining to go but I’m super scared when it happens. I have had a fissure many years ago but I could recognise it because it hurt but this doesn’t exactly hurt in the way that did. It’s bright red blood and usually the size of an ant either on the toilet paper or in the bowl. Has anyone experienced this. I’m 22 female. My health anxiety is shooting through the roof:(

Hi Mina19
it could be any number of things, and if you have had a fissure before, it is possible that the skin has ruptured again, and not necessarily be painful.
my advice would be to see your doctor, that way you will know for sure. The benefit of doing this will set your mind at ease. And if it is anything more serious, then it is best to catch it early.

Hello Mina19, thanks for posting your comment on what you have described is always a worry for us, when we always think the worst, especially if you're suffering from health anxiety, I certainly hope not, but as the others have said, speak with your doctor.
I'm not a doctor to say, but it may be polyps, anyway, they will decide whether or not you need a colonoscopy, that's for them to talk with you about.
We wish you all the very best.
Geoff.

Hi Mina19,
Please make an appointment with your doctor they are the best person to advise.....
if you are googling symptoms on google please stop doing it..... it will only make your anxiety worse....
Wishing you all the best

Hey Mina19, I hope you're ok. We're obviously not professionals here, but it could just be Hemorrhoids. Of course I'm not diagnosing you, just trying to ease your mind. You would be best going to a GP.
As Petal22 said, please make an appointment with your GP, or another one if you can't get in to see yours. And yes I know that it can be tempting to Google your symptoms etc, but please don't, as Petal said also. I know it's difficult, but please see a GP as they know best. I understand it's hard to get in to see GPs etc at the moment, but please try. Sometimes it helps having an answer, as scary as it can be.
Please know that while we suggest seeing a GP because they're professionals, we all still care and want to support you and we all want you to be ok, we're just trying to offer the advice which is best.
Please take care of yourself and see a GP when you can.
