today i had a blood and urine test done at my local gp..
i went to the doctor about my anxiety and depression and had a long chat with him about me and whatnot, before leaving he had me do a blood test and urine test? i have no physical symptoms but i have extreme health anxiety and i’m worried something bad will show up or something.. deep down i know i’m okay and that the results will be fine and i will continue this long road of coping with my mental health, but i can’t help but worry..

Hi CC, and welcome to the community.
I myself have had at least half a dozen blood tests done in the past few months for various things and 1 urine test, all of which came back completely clean. This was a surprise to me because I thought for sure something was up with me because I was experiencing all sorts of physical symptoms, but it turns out most (if not all) of the symptoms I was experiencing were caused by my anxiety.
I'm sure your GP took those tests to see if you're deficient in any vitamins or minerals because if you're deficient in anything that could cause you to feel more depressed or anxious. You shouldn't worry because this is standard practice for most GPs, in-fact the first time I went into the GP about my depression the first thing they asked for was a blood test to see if I was deficient in anything.
I had a blood test done just last Friday and am still waiting on the results, but I'm not really all that anxious about getting them back because all my previous ones have been clean, and I'm sure yours will be too.
I'm sure you'll be just fine.
All the best,
Max.

Hi cc199918,
A urine test and blood test is the standard. If you are sure that you are healthy, then you should be fine. I've had to do a lot of these tests and to have to do them does make me anxious but when it's all been done and given... This where you should tell yourself: It's over, the tests have been done. There's nothing else I can do. Since pathology tests make take 1-3 days to get results, take some deep breaths in and out.
The first time I had a urine test was when I was 15 after becoming sexually active and i was anxious... since there was no protection. I was a clueless kid back then.
Sorry if that didn't help
