random anxiety triggers

Hi,
Does anyone else have random/specific triggers to their anxiety?
For some reason, open doors and windows stress me out so much, in summer when my mum has opened everything I have to go around and close all of them, and I feel bad because of course she wants them open when it’s hot, but just having them open makes me so angry and anxious, I freak out and my heart beats fast and my palms get sweaty.
Also, autotuned voices in music annoy me in general but whenever I hear it playing really quietly, but still able to be heard, I have a similar reaction and puts me on the brink of tears, sometimes making me cry or scream. Sometimes the sound comes up in my dreams too or I can just imagine it so clearly it has the same effect.
Am I alone in this? Do you have things like this?
Thanks

Hello pierrette
Welcome and thankyou for being a part of the forums too!
Anxiety can be an awful set of feelings to have. I used to have chronic anxiety in traffic...supermarkets and other places/situations... I understand where you are coming from.
Its only what I have learned from my counselor....Anxiety can be 'free floating' as in without a trigger too
Our heart beating fast and sweaty palms are very common where anxiety is concerned pierrette. Can I ask if you have been diagnosed by your GP with anxiety?
The forums are a safe and non judgemental place for you to post 🙂
I hope you can post back when its convenient for you. There are many super gentle people on the forums that can be here for you
my kind thoughts
Paul

thank you paul !
no, I haven't been diagnosed, so I'm hesitant to say "my anxiety" with a self-diagnosis, but I say it more as feelings of anxiety rather than GAD. (15 y-o so I have to wait until I'm 16 until I have privacy with what I tell a doctor, where I live.)
I know it can occur without triggers, and I experience that too, but this is pretty consistently in tandem with the things I mentioned.
there are other things too, but most are really really specific (like the music thing but more) and hard to explain without going into a lot of detail.
I guess it's hard to say without a proper diagnosis, but it would be nice if I could put a name to the feelings privately

Hi Pierrette
Thankyou for taking the time to post back 🙂
I understand you about placing a name on these feelings. Its just my humble opinion through experience that it may be a lot of stress too.
Being mid teens can be a pain as you have so many things to deal with in your life. Stress can be under rated where these feelings are concerned. Having stress at home or at school can make us feel awful including feeling over sensitized too.
How is everything going at school....if I may ask?
Great to have you as part of the Beyond Blue family Pierrette 🙂
We also have the Young Persons Subject Heading under the main menu too....(just to let you know)
you are not alone
my kind thoughts
