I'm not too sure where to start. I guess by writing this now, I've started.

I wake in the early hours of most mornings with what feels like my heart pounding out of my chest.

I feel like I cannot cope with everyday stuff and feel like I'm being lumbered with every decision, such as:

What are you organizing for Christmas, Easter, birthdays, etc, why dose it have to be up to me always.

Feeling very alone, scared, not in control of me, overwhelmed, sad

Hi Justus,

I understand what anxiety feels like. However, I have not experienced the pounding heart, but have read that numerous others on this forum have experienced this symptom. Have you been to your GP recently about your anxiety? If not, it would be wise to make an appointment with them to discuss your concerns, and to build solutions together.

At night before you go to bed, writing down tasks that must be completed, and thoughts that are running through your mind, can be helpful. This way, you have them down on paper, so you don't need to worry about having to remember the task or thought in the morning. I do this fairly often, and find that it helps me.

Also, if you are struggling with the sheer amount of responsibility you have, you could talk calmly to family members or friends etc about having some help. My Mum used to always say yes to doing lots of different things for others. This is a kind thing to do, but can become unhealthy if the responsibilities overload the person, and worsen or cause anxiety. Saying no to some things is okay. If you explain to people that you already have too many responsibilities and are sincere about it, there is a good chance they will understand.

I hope something I've said has been helpful 🙂

Best wishes,

SM
