hello All,  I'm new to this site, I found it by accident when looking for information and support for bipolar disorder and BPD.

Its helpful reading the posts, I'm not alone, I always thought I was.

Glad I found you.

dear Nessie, no you're not alone, there are so many people with all sorts or types of depression, including BPD.

I am pleased that you have found this site, but only by accident, because your doctor would know about it, and as much publicity as Beyond Blue has done then that's a concern.

Can I ask you if this diagnosis have been diagnosed by your doctor, and if not then you need to go and see him/her to be given the right medication which will help you.

There are so many stories from people on this site who are also struggling with BPD, but would love to hear back from you. Geoff. x

Hi there Nessie

And a big welcome to you to Beyond Blue – it IS an awesome place and I hope that you’ll be able to use these forums in a productive way for yourself;  and I also look forward to seeing you on here more often.

One key thing to note in what you said is so so important – “You are not alone”.

Kind regards

Neil

FINALLY a big thankyou to Geoff, Neil and Mummybee, it's taken me a while to get back to you all because I was shocked to be made to feel so welcome and ashamed to have stepped out into the light, I was lost for words and I  tried to delete my application to the forum. It didn't work, silly me..................

so I thought I'd try and respond to people if I felt like I understood where they were at.

someone said that "you have to give something to receive something"  ( apologies for taking someone else's words without acknowledging the author )

Its strange really because I turned on my I Pad and the BB website came up immediately requesting that I reply to a link that bought me here. So maybe even if I want to go back and hide away where is quiet and safe BB won't let me.  It is a very lonely place and I've been there for a long long time.

Once again, I thankyou Geoff, Neil and Mummybee for the warm warm welcome. I'll try and hang in there.

Hi there Nessie 1602

That is so awesome to hear back from you.  But hey, under no circumstances do you ever need to feel ashamed or the like – every person who comes to Beyond Blue is entitled to the same warm welcome and the same levels of kindness and support.  This is because every person is bloody special and very much valued, not only here, but in their own lives.

It’s just that we live with this mongrel illness that sucks so much positiveness out of us and replaces it with doubt and negativity.  What we’ve got to understand is that this is not normally who we are – we ARE good people, we are worthwhile and we are needed.  So that’s where the big fight kicks in, with us trying to convince ourselves of this.

I’m so pleased that you were able to come back and respond again and even more pleased that you weren’t able to delete your application to the forum.  I hope that you might be able to stay – and read other threads;  perhaps some that you might feel resonate with you – and perhaps even write a bit more on this one.

Kind regards

Neil
