Hi everyone
I am dealing with my Anxiety and I am going for psychologist appointment, just wanting some advise how should I talk to an psychologist so he/she can help me better? I have panic attack and anxiety quite frequently and do not have a good support from family.

Hello Alwaysbehappy,
A very warm and caring welcome to our forums...
I think being totally honest about how your anxiety is causing you to feel and think is the very best way to talk to any Psychologist....They don’t how we feel or how much anxiety is impacting on your life unless you are able to open up and tell them...
If you find it difficult to open up..you can always write out on a piece of paper what your going through and hand it to them...many people I have heard do it that way...
I wish you good luck and hope that your psychologist can help you move forward...
Please if you feel up to it keep us updated on how your feeling...
My kind thoughts
Grandy..

Hi Alwaysbehappy!
Welcome to the forums!
Its taken alot of work, but talking openly about my anxiety with my psychologist has really benefited me.
My advice - Be completely open and honest about your anxiety with your psychologist. It can be daunting at first and you my feel like you're being 'judged' but once you get past those feelings working with a psychologist to figure out your anxiety is one of the best feelings.
You're not alone here 🙂

Hi there and welcome
I agree with Ggrand and Gambit that being open is the best option for getting the help that you want. I don't have family support either and find these forums very helpful for that reason. You are always welcome to chat here if you would like.
Take care. Katy

Hi Alwaysbehappy, welcome to the forum.
Going to a psychologist or counsellor can be quite daunting to begin with, but going in with an open mind and willingness to let everything off your chest is not only beneficial for the psychologist to be able to help you, but makes you feel so much better too.
I agree with Ggrand as well about writing everything down. Even if you don't directly hand the paper over to the psychologist, just having some notes and a bit of a timeline in writing can really help you find a place to start. Best of luck 🙂
