Nervous bladder with anxiety

Hi

I suffer from anxiety, mostly mild, but sometimes full on. One of the side affects of my anxiety can be what I call nervous bladder where I end up needing to go to the bathroom a lot when I am in stressful situations. I have recently started a new job where I will be in lots of meetings, on the road with colleagues a lot etc which are all situations this occurs in and can often lead to panic attacks. This job is a great opportunity to further my career and I wasn't going to let anxiety talk me out of it but I know I will have these issues. I was just wondering if anyone experiences this and has some advice on how to deal with it?

Hi MrShyB

Welcome to Beyond Blue.

I can imagine how distressing it is.  This condition calls for both medical and psychological treatment.  If you haven't already done so, please see a GP.  Meanwhile try the pharmacist and they might have something for you to use temporary.  Let us know how you go and good luck.

Hello Mr ShyB,

Great advice from Struggler 🙂  I'd like to ad that acupuncture can help with nervous bladder - also there are great herbs that can help with this - good luck with your new career!!

Good luck! 🙂

Hi

I have suffered from this problem for many many years and want to get through it ! Have been to a urologist and no physical problems. I am sure it is all in my mind ... I stress about it so much that I am anxious all the time. I worry myself into panic attacks and then need the bathroom immediately !! I have just started an online course for managing anxiety so looking forward to working with that.

I am interested in the names of the herbs mentioned that might help. Has anyone else had any success with acapuncture ?

Any feedback would be appreciated 😊
