Hi all,
I'm really anxious because I have been having some serious health issues. I have these attacks where I gag and I feel like I can't breathe and I can't speak when I'm having the attacks. It's really scary. When I went to the Doctor's and I was having an attack, she got really annoyed and said 'oh Jesus Christ. Get your partner's and then she snapped at me to stop making noises. Noises I couldn't help making. I ended up leaving her office mid attack because she made me feel so uncomfortable and yeah she just let me go, even though I was having an attack.
Apart from that I get the shakes really bad and it's so intense and painful. Now I've just found out I have an abnormal pap pap smear, so basically a cancer scare, just in time for Christmas.

Hi there,

First off, get rid of your doctor. They are supposed to make us feel better and not the other way around. You need to find a good one who will help you sort things out. One step at a time, and don't worry too much. I know it's easier said than done but worrying won't do you any good. It will only worsen your situation.

Hi Winterz,

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience at the doctors. They should have helped you, not make you feel bad. You don't deserve that. The pap smear result must be distressing as well- do you have anyone you can reach out to during this time? Do you have another GP to talk to regarding the serious health issues?

You may also really benefit from some structured help to address the anxiety attacks. You can reach out here: The Beyond Blue Support Service provides advice and support via telephone 24/7 (just call 1300 22 4636), daily web chat (between  1pm–12am) and email (with a response provided within 24 hours). Feel free to keep chatting in this thread too- we are here to listen.

Sending kindness,
