Feeling like I'm failing!

The new meds I think are working ok, I'm not as anxious!

But I googled tonight, epic fail!

I just want to feel normal again!

I know I have to work harder!

Today I just  need encouragement!

Hello Skye,

It sounds like you are doing reasonably okay for now.  And you have things in place for when things are not so good.  Thats all good.  And I'm sure you are a fantastic mother and wife.  Dont be too hard on yourself.

I understand that you are not coming onto the Forums as much lately, and thats fine too.  I have been doing something similar myself, which you have read about on my thread I noticed.  Thanks for your post there by the way. I am just taking a little semi-break to allow myself some rest and recuperation time after a difficult few weeks.  A chance to catch up on some sleep and try to pick myself up a bit.  And like you, I wanted to avoid any possible triggers gained by browsing the site.   So I totally understand all that.

Just keep us up to date occasionally with how you are going, and know that we are here if you need us.

Hugs to you Skye.

Hi Skye.

It sounds like you have a good long-term plan in place. And it’s great that your husband is so supportive. I think this is very important as it takes some of the pressure off of you. Hopefully over time your worry about hearing voices will reduce. You still seem to have a very good grip of the situation and realise that these voices are most likely coming from outside. I’m sure at the time though this is of little comfort.

Focusing on your family is a great idea. It’s something you have control over and can only lead to a good outcome.

Staying off of the forum is a good idea if it is one of your triggers. As mentioned before I still benefit every day from your posts about staying off of Google and trusting my health professionals. It is made my latest health scare much easier to deal with.

Be kind to yourself and don’t let the bad days discourage you. Celebrate the good days as they are the rewards for the effort you’re putting in.

I wish you all the best.

Dean

Dean, I was just checking in on you! I hope everything is improving!

Good to hear that your medication isn't making you as anxious!

I'm definitely in the same boat as you, feel like failure. Almost to the point where everyday life is a struggle because I don't feel like I'm going to get anywhere.

However, music tends to keep my mind away from the constant thoughts and I'm really glad to have something in my life that keeps me happy! Video games is also an amazing thing to keep my mind busy. I'll play them for the fun, but most importantly, to be able to have interaction with others that wouldn't be possible (at this current time) in the real world.

Anyway, stay positive! And try to live life to the fullest.

Hi helpfulness and welcome!

Thank you for your post. Thank you for your advice!

Hello Skye,

Just quickly wanted to check in to say that I like your new profile picture.

I think you worked yesterday, are you at work again today as well?

I do hope you are feeling okay Skye.  Because I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you.

Hugs to you,

Sherie xx

Hi Sherie,

thank you so much for thinking of me. I really feel like we are friends! Sorry it took me so long to answer, for some reason I couldn't log on yesterday. It was quite frustrating.

Im doing ok. My little girl was sick yesterday so I didn't work. Hopefully we are all on the mend. I made the kids a cave to read in with a tent and lots of cushions and quilts. I also finished off hubby's man cave as a surprise, cause I've been a bit hard to live with.

My anxiety comes an goes, i tAlked to my psych again yesterday who again confirmed I just have anxiety, which is great.

How are you? How is little Holly? My mum has a little Maltese called Holly, she is 14.  How is hubbies eye?

Skye

Hello Skye,

I agree it does feel as though we develop very strong friendship bonds with each other through these Forums.  But just lately it seems as though all my best friends are all going through a really tough time.  Yourself, Shelley, Elizabeth, and now even Paul.  Its just so unfair that everyone continues to suffer like this.   Its awful.........   Of course I know its going to happen, because we are all in the same 'leaky' boat in terms of mental illnesses.  So regular ups and downs are always going to be our close partner.  But sometimes I almost feel that my own 'troughs' are easier to take than hearing about everyone elses.  Do you get that too?  I read a couple of weeks  ago that you were avoiding the Forums for a while in an effort to prevent triggers.  Is that still the case?  If so, its not selfish on your part at all, its self preservation.  So do take breaks when you feel you need to.

Sorry to hear that your little girl was sick yesterday. I guess the cold is doing the rounds?  Kids caves using sheets, cushions, quilts etc.  One of the pleasures of childhood I think.  It was fun when I was little, and it is still fun for kids today.  Its one of those enduring things that transcend generations.

Its good that your psych has again been able to reassure you about 'just' having anxiety.  Dont forget of course that 'just' anxiety is still a very distressing disorder to live with.  Naturally its great that you dont have any more serious disorders though.  But be reassured that even with 'just' anxiety, you are going to feel dreadful at times.

I'm alright at the moment thankyou.  Got an apt coming up with my psych next Monday.

Hubby's eye is finally on the improve.  Not before time.  He was back to the Eye surgeon again today hopefully as a final check.  He removed more undisolved stitch on Saturday and I think that was the last of it thankfully.  It has been slowly improving since then.

Holly is such a sweet little dog - always happy, always very obedient and polite.  It was definitely our lucky day when we found her with someone who didnt want her when she was 8 months old.  She is only 7 years old, but in dog years that is, I believe, considered aged.  Your Mum's little maltese at 14 would be the equivalent of about 98 in human years.  So she's doing really well.  Obviously well loved and cared for.

Keep well Skye.  And a hug, coz you're special.

Sherie,

I am the same, it is hard going when I read of people's struggles, I just want to reach out and hug them, make it all better.

Yes anxiety isn't "just" anxiety. But at present I'm trying to roll with it, not fight it!

You are a wonderful lady!

Love skye

Hey Dean,

not sure if you are still following this thread but I just wanted to see how you are?
