Feeling like I'm failing!

The new meds I think are working ok, I'm not as anxious!

But I googled tonight, epic fail!

I just want to feel normal again!

I know I have to work harder!

Today I just  need encouragement!

Hi Dean,

It sounds like you are doing ok! You are very lucky to have your wife and one that watches out for you!

I'm glad my posts have helped in some way!

I um, I'm doing so /so, they have put me on calmatives while the new tablets kick in!

They have also referred me to a psyciatrist and quite frankly I'm making my self sick worrying he's going to diagnose me with the "s" word, so now all my worries are coming back, I'm really truly scared.

Several people on here have commented it's treatable if I ever got it but I work somewhere where I see people like this every day, and it's not easy to treat. And I would walk away from my family cause I couldn't do that to them, I adore them! I'm driving myself insane, so scared!

Oh Skye, how difficult for you.  I'm sorry you are so scared about all this.

Perhaps you can keep telling yourself that it really is only a "WORD".

If you have it, or if you DONT, you would still be the very same person then, as you are now.

And that wont change.

You say that you would walk away from your family, that you couldnt live with them if you were diagnosed with "S".  Could you really deprive them of their loving mother who adores them so very much?  I think not.  And I also know that they would definitely not want that.

So here you are driving yourself insane (your words, not mine) about the possibility that a new health professional may find something that a previous one missed.  Would you worry any less if you just didnt bother to go?  Or would you continue to worry anyway, because you are convinced you have "s"?

I can see that this is a major dilema you have.  Is there someone close to you that you can talk to more about this?  Someone you know well like a good friend or a sibling or parent perhaps?  See what they think.

I know it is worth nothing coming from someone totally unqualified, but you seem to me to be totally sane.  But just extremely anxious about a particular health issue.

If its any comfort to you, I do have a brother-in-law who is "s" and until they adjusted his medication, he was in a very bad way.  Now he comes across as very normal.  I also have a neighbour who is 's' and the same story with her.  The medication is vital for them both as it allows them to apparently live a normal happy life.  So I do know that it is treatable.

I guess where you work, you probably see people in their worst state, the ones who have not been treated or got their meds right yet.  That must be scary for you, and I sympathise.  But I suspect you are only seeing the worst.

Do you want to know, or would you prefer not to? Do what you think is right Skye.  Only you can know that.

But please dont drive yourself insane in the process!   ( - :

Hugs to you Skye.

Oh Sherie,

You are a beautiful amazing person!

Thank you xo

Oh Sherie,

you are a beautiful and amazing person! Thank you for taking the time to calm me and for caring! I truly count you as a friend!

Skye

Dean, please accept my heartfelt apologies! I am so sorry for unloading on you, when I should be leaving you to concentrate on getting better! I pride myself on being a kind person, not selfish!

I am so happy for you that you have such amazing support from your wife and the health professionals. I am also happy you are able to keep your anxiety somewhat under control!

I was curious, do you have any pets?

Take care Dean, nurture yourself!

Hi Skye.

No apologies needed. All good.

I will post a longer reply when I'm not on my mobile phone.

Cheers

Dean

Heya Dean,

Just wanted to check in on you! Hope you are doing ok!

Heya Sherie,

I have read and re-read you post so many times! I find it comforting to some extent I think about it often. I have recently talked to my doctor and psycologist and a lovely girl at the mental health team. They all agree that at this stage maybe waiting to see if the meds work effectively is best. The thought of seeing him was distressing me and my dr said she only wanted someone else to tell me I didn't have it!

I even told my psycologist and mental health team that I had a random thought that what if I was imagining all my friends on here and in life were made up, then what if everyone knew I was insane? They just said that isn't a symptom skye you just have an overactive imagination! which reassured me, sort of! I have a weird brain, they said the thing that makes a difference is I know it's not true!

Skye

Thats good Skye.  It sounds like you have resolved your dilema for yourself.  So now you can relax.

I hope the meds do their job and you find the peace of mind that you deserve.

And dont worry, your many friends on these Forums are not imaginary.  We are all very real and very genuine.

Hugs to you, and much love.

Hey Skye

Always good to talk 'with' you....You are a part of the 'family' on here...Your advice is warm and welcome.

I know that we have covered the 'S' word before...and thats why we are here..If you had it you would not be able to articulate as well as you do on BB...

Its very easy (Ive done it) to get 'bogged down' with terminology and names for everything that you are suffering from...At the end of the day.....'Insanity' is word that should be buried back in the 60's....Its not relevant anymore

I can and do understand you 'overthink' a lot...like many of us....

Your mind probably is 'tired' too...

Leave the never ending list of 'disorders' ....having a 'microscope' on yourself wont help you heal

Lots of Hugs

Paul

Paul and Sherie,

Your hugs are felt. I feel a little insane. But hopefully I can heal!

With much appreciation and love
