Extremely overwhelmed with uni

It’s nearly the end of uni and i’ve been having panic attacks nearly everyday. I dream about all the uni i haven’t done and when i try and do it I just break down as it is too hard. I’ve been trying to find tutors but I can’t. I work 6 full days a week also so I have no time and everyone is pressuring me to keep it all together but all I want to do is leave! It’s too much and I just want to hide

hello and welcome.

the first thought that came to my mind was talking to student services or someone that manages the course you are doing and speak to them about the problems you are having a hopefully a find a way forwards. Just wondering if something is possible on passionate grounds. The uni should also have counsellors you can speak to as well?

A few years ago things were bad for me - I was working F/T and studying P/T (2 subjects). I was lucky in that it was pre-census. But I did had to drop a subject and explain to the lecturer etc. The next N sessions i was able to get out from on compassionate grounds. It was treated as leave. Doing that was a big weight off my mind.

So I wonder if this is possible for you?

With the amount of time you are working, it definitely sounds like there is really no time for study, let alone relaxing to get ready for the next week.

If you want to talk some more ...

Hello Sophie, going to uni these days is completely different than twenty years ago, because once you have finished there is no guarantee of finding a job, so you might end up in a job that's not related to your studies, so having a degree might be beneficial, but good money can be found in other areas.

As you are working six days a week, it pays the bills and can give you a life, so if you don't feel accomplished with uni, then you can at least defer and come back to it at a later date if that's a decision you want to make.

You hopefully will feel less responsibility if you defer uni and concentrate on your work and then begin to enjoy life without having the need to finish assignments and do exams.
