Eating disorders in isolation

My eating disorder returned around December. Since isolation it’s gotten a lot worse. It used to be mainly anorexic behaviours but now I’m experiencing Bulimia too. I’m really trying to get better but it’s so hard when I feel like there’s no support system for me.
any advice? I’m in a lot of pain.

Hi Looloo. Same. I've been overeating out of sheer boredom. Food has become my friend again.

And I've started vomiting cos my stomach is so stretched. The more I try to control this with will power, the more I fail and the cycle continues.

I don't know how to sort this but am grateful for the BB connection that shows me I'm not alone.

Cos isolation and sneaky binge eating causes my shame. And I'm only as sick as my secrets.

So better to admit my failings here on the forum.

Welcome to the forums and thank you for joining us. I can see that Belinda24 has already offered a really welcome and supportive reply 🙂

Eating disorders are so hard right now - I think they are a bit under the radar and forgotten about when in reality it's so hard to cope that we often resort to the only ways we really know how - whether that's eating less than we need, more than we need or throwing up.

What are the ways that you can get some support right now? There are still therapists working during this time but often through things such as Skype or phone calls. There's also The Butterfly Foundation which has a webchat and a hotline as well as things online you can read. They are staying open and available all through COVID-19. Greetings Belinda!! I’ve had a really rough day but seeing this before bed brought a smile to my face.

its really hard to make your home into a positive healing space but we can sure as heck try!
I try to celebrate the little achievements, like not purging for a meal or a few day’s or even a week!!

Hey all

I'm so glad I found you guys and this thread.
I'm binge eating quite badly at this time... subsisting on chocolate

I decided to stop caring about it - was going through such a difficult time and I couldn't worry about everything

But it does make me feel crappy and guilty
