When I’m anxious I start feeling like I need to talk.
I don’t often have someone to actually talk to. But when I do it’s like floodgates release, I can hardly stop myself.
I don’t know if it’s because everything feels like it’s moving fast and I just need to let it out or because finally someone is listening.
Does anyone else find that they become like a geyser of emotions?

Yeah . l can hold my own in most sicthes and l run a business and deal with people of all sorts.
But if l'm feeling anxiety l get really bad foot in mouth, l feel like smackin myself over the head.
lt often happens around good old family , l don't see them very often and dread the thought with some , but it can hit anytime with just about anyone also.
Been working on it years , l'm much better these days but it still gets me sometimes.

Hello Chicken Wing,
I have major anxiety/depression I am the total opposite to what you just described happens to you.
With me I clam up, oh my minds racing on what to say, but my mind tells I will say the wrong thing, use the wrong tone, make a fool out of myself, I'll say something I shouldn't and upset someone, so I just don't talk.
I think anxiety as with other MH, effects people differently.
kindness only,
Karen.

Not around people much (dread leaving the house). When around people ,family included, the chattering starts mind is racing.I have so many words to get out i dont even remember what I said later

Hey Chicken Wings!
Great to have you and your gorgeous puppy back on the forums 🙂
Absolutely! Anxiety makes me talk all four legs off a chair...seriously. Its common when we have our adrenal gland pumping away as much as it does when having even low level anxiety....
Good on you for the great thread topic CW...
My kindest as always
Paul

Hello Chicken Wings, Random, Paul, maclyn,
Looks like I'm the only one, that the mind races 100 Klms per hour but my voice stays silent.
Kind thoughts
Karen

Personally anxiety did the complete opposite for me, however most people I know who have anxiety do chat a lot. Usually its faster talking than usual and occasionally either consciously or subcobsciously they talk about their anxiety- either literally how worried they are or every possible thing that could go wrong.
I'm slightly detailed in this response here because one of these people was a very good friend and another was a teacher. I dont think its really a bad thing to be more chatty and wont make people dislike you or anything (obv much more depends on your personality), the only problem I had with anxious chatters was with the teacher. He talked a lot in class and had a rule about not working while he was talking- so we never got anything done haha. But I dont think he realised he was talking so much. Knowing how anxiety is affecting you is the first step. Nice topic.
