As of the past few weeks i've been unable to control the constant fear and panicking. Constantly getting chest tightness and have trouble breathing. I've had multiple tests done on my heart and lungs but they all came back with nothing unusual. I've also been on/tried about 10 different antidepressants over a few years and they all seem to stop doing anything after a while. Going to see my shrink in a few weeks hopefully. I'm just not sure what they're gonna do and if anyone has some suggestions or ideas as ive tried everything I can think of and nothing works, i wish i was the person i was in my late teens that had no worries and could sleep great.
Thanks

Hi Jarred,
I bought one of those blood pressure monitors you can use at home. That thing helps calm me down a bit because numbers don't lie.
When you're in panic mode the rational part of your brain stops working properly. Your mind and body are in a more primitive state - survival. So having a simple set of numbers in front of you can be a comfort.

Hi Jarred,
I was taken by ambulance to hospital a year ago with all your symptoms - chest pain, dizziness, difficulty breathing. All tests plus follow up lung and heart checks were normal. I began to experience panic attacks on a regular basis and became increasingly terrified. By chance I heard a talk on the ABC re panic attacks which said to calmly focus on the attack and try to experience fully what was going on. I was afraid but found it very helpful to the point they stopped altogether within a couple of weeks. More to the point, I was no longer afraid of them.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jarred,
How have you been lately?
Floppsy - thank you for being brave and sharing your experience, I am so glad that you are no longer afraid of panic attacks. That takes a lot of strength!
