Anxiety and heart palpitations

Hey just wondering if anyone else worries about their heart when they get palpitations. I feel like my heart is beating out of my chest and in turn this makes me worry about having a heart attack, which then in turn makes me palpitations even worse.

Hi Jarred28

I experience this quite often and yes its due to high levels of anxiety but it isn't anything to worry about in regards to having a heart attack unless you diet resembles Elvis's. I had my gp send me off for tests and my results came back normal but I discovered that regular walking and meditation has helped allot along with staying and concentrating on the present moment. I don't know if you have meditated before but if not you could try 10 minuets of slow deep breathes, you hopefully find that after some practice you don't experience those palpitations as much. Obviously if persists you could always go and see you GP

Cheers and good luck

Hello Jarred28,

A warm welcome to the forums..

I also feel the palpitations when I’m highly anxious...

It it more likely to be from stress and anxiety...

I would like to suggest though...just to be certain that nothing is wrong physically with you..that you go to your GP.and have some tests done, and talk to your GP..about your concerns....More likely it’s stress causing the fast heart beats...but please get it checked out..to be sure and put your mind at rest..

My kind thoughts with care,

Grandy..
