Hi,
I'll be looking after mums place while she's away in a few weeks and I'm already nervous.
I guess I feel more isolated with lack of support if something goes wrong.
In order to manage it Im trying to plan some nice things to do including walking the dog, but appreciate any help.
I've also had a messy time with job trials and now I may be able to get a permanent part-time one, so its all happening at once. The role is different to what I've done before too. The heat has not helped either this week.

Hi gloria10,
Thank you for sharing your experience, it sounds like things are pretty hard, and you’re coping with a lot. We’re sorry to hear you’re feeling this way but please know our community is ralling around you at this time. It's understandable to have anxiety when one of your supports goes away for a time, on the flip side it also means that your Mum views you as responsible and trustworthy to look after her place while she is away. It sounds like a good plan to have some nice things to do while she's away, you might like to see it as an opportunity for a 'staycation' and line up some other nice things like watching some movies or engaging in some self-care activities. It might be useful to have write a plan down for each day of some fun activities to do as well as some resources if you feel overhelmed such as the contact of a support person or our number if you need someone to talk to.
Thanks again for sharing, lots of people on the forums find that sharing is an early step on the journey towards feeling better. We’re sure we’ll hear from them on your thread soon. In the meantime, here’s some resources you could take a look at:
Kind regards,
Sophie M

Thanks for your post Sophie. I like the idea of a Staycation and giving myself a break, I could probably do with one.
I appreciate the links and will definitely have a look at them.
