Hi guys, I have really bad anxiety and struggle with mild OCD and i have been really worried about corona virus these last couple days as i have had a bit of a blocked nose and excessive saliva in mouth and i haven’t been able to sleep at night worrying i have the virus even tho i live in Adelaide Australia were we don’t have any active cases. My parents tell me it’s just allergies and because i have a fan in my room while sleeping but i just worry and i don’t know if my anxiety is making at worse or if i actually have something and i’m real scared i’m giving it to my friends at school

Hi James54

Thank you for your post and reaching out. COVID-19 is causing so much anxiety in everyone and I can imagine how much higher it would be having OCD.

I'm wondering if it would be helpful for you to have a test? Do you think having those results confirmed would put you at ease?

Hi James54!

I completely empathise and understand why you may be feeling some concern about the situation! I agree with the above thread, it may be of use to just get a test to ease your mind? Maybe stay home from school for a couple of days even or see a doctor! Remember, it is also cold season during this time and you may just be under the weather! I also am having similar symptoms to you but have not been anywhere that has had active cases!

I wish you the best and hope you feel better soon! Having anxiety and OCD with the current situation makes it even more challenging, but you've got this!

Hi, thanks for the reply. My anxiety and OCD has been increased heavily the last couple weeks due to COVID and i have started feeling like i have a virus, sore throat, hit and cold, tired but i have no fever and there are rarely no cases here in adelaide. I have talked to my parents and they keep reassuring me that i don’t have it and i should keep doing all my normal things like going to school. so what i was wondering, does anxiety cause these viral symptoms and is it most likely the effect the anxiety ha sheen having on my body
