Antidepressant journey

Hi there I suffer from anxiety for a long time but recent events in my life have made me feel so anxious to the point I can no longer function productively. I talk to myself way too often to help cope with negativity. Exercise is becoming a stress point. It looks like medication may be the next option. May I ask for some feedback on how medication has helped you cope with chronic anxiety so you can function as a normal being? Whats your experience?

Hello ThomasJakeLim, one thing to remember is that if someone close to you is taking an AD you are prescribed for the first time and they do wonders for them, doesn't necessarily mean they will do the same for you, everybody is different and our bodily functions are not the same.

The same goes if they don't agree with them, they may make your life so much better.

Best wishes.

Geoff.

Hi Cee.

I never said you did anything wrong, I'm sorry if it came across that way. I know you weren't trying to shut anyone down. Sorry if I upset you or somebody else.

Hi mb20lover,

I'm sorry too. I'm sorry I got so defensive, I don't know what's wrong with me lately. You were right about them needing to seek professional advice. I also took it the wrong way, so it's my fault too. It's all good, no worries at all. Hope you're ok too.

That's fine Cee

It is not a silver bullet for sure. So glad to have a community to willing to share. Thanks all.

Hi Cee123

Thankyou for your great post on the benefits of antidepressants and anti anxiety meds on the 24th

I wasted 13 years of my life refusing meds for GAD/Depression. When our anxiety begins to have a negative impact on our day to day ability to function they are an important part of our road to recovery
