Admitting Something Is Wrong.

Not sure where to start and not even sure why im posting or if anyone will see..

Im a mother of 3 children. Ive suffered on and off for about 3 years with anxiety (social and health) but ive alaways managed it myself. But last week something happened and i started googling symptoms which i wish i never had now and went downwards fast!

I was convinced that something bad is going to happen to me and ill need some sort of major surgery. Now i just cant get out of this down mood im in. Ive never been this bad. Everymorning i wake up in a panic attack and all day im down.

I just dont see this getting better and im not sure i could live a whole life everyday like this!

I have booked in to see a gp tommorow as i cant live like this. but ive just moved to a new area and will be the first time seeing a dr. So im not sure what to say and im not even really sure how seeing a gp is going to help me. Im really struggling to see how this can get better and how will i cope everyday like this.

Any advice on seeing a gp doctor especially one who ive never met before?

Just an update.

I went to the doctors (after being sick from nerves) and she was actually so nice. I didnt feel like she judged me at all. She listened to what i have to say and gave me some test it was out of 50 and i got around the 40 mark. Obviously that isnt very good but shows how much i have been struggling. She rang a phsycologist and got me in asap.

Now i know i have a long road ahead of me but just from that dr listening to me and me learning a few tricks already from this forum i feel like there is a light at the end of this. Yesterday i was sure no one could help me but im feeling just that bit more optimistic today.

So thankful to everyone that took time to reply to my thread your kind words really wete helpful after the rough days i have had! 💙

Hello again

I am so glad the GP appointment went well and you felt comfortable. It can be a bit on an eye opener realising that you on that test (I'm guessing it is the k10 or something similar) you score high, but it is good to know that you can get help and move on. Yes it maybe a long journey but it is one I am glad I took.

With seeing the psychologist just be open. Now for me the first appointment is a getting to know you and get some of your history (e.g. when did anxiety start for you? what is anxiety to you? etc). So don't feel discouraged if after the first appointment you don't have a breakthrough or revelating moment (some do but for me I didn't). Personally it takes me till app 4 to really get into it. This is ok and just letting you know it is normal. Also if you don't feel like you click with this psychologist this is also ok. Just book in again to see your doctor and ask to see a different psychologist due to not clicking. I have done this before and it is ok. If anything dr encourage you to point out if you aren't clicking because they want you to be able to really open up in therapy.

Keep us updated and I'll pop back in 🙂

Thanks for all the tips.. 💙

Woke up today first day without some sort of panic attack in about a week so i was feeling optimistic. But things seem to change for me so quick. Im back to feeling panicky that im going to get some sort of terrible health problem and something terrible and painful is going to happen im honestly over feeling like this. Ive gone from feeling optimistic to not sure how talking to someone is ever goinf to fix this.

Im sorry if i sound sooky but ive wanted to document my journey so maybe one day i can look back and see how far ive come.
