Basically I get this screaming voice in my head. I can't really understand what it's saying because it says it so fast but sometimes I can make out what it's saying and it's mostly insult at some of my biggest insecurities. I don't what's happening...

Hello Ellxe
I wanted to say hello to you, and give you a welcome hug.
What you are experiencing...... well I don't know or understand what is happening to you either. But I do know of someone on these forums that has experienced something similar to you. So I wanted to let you know, so you don't feel alone in this. I am hoping this person will shed some more light for you.
With love to you
Shelley anne xx

dear Ellxe, having these thoughts must be very distressing and complicate your life, to the point you don't know which way to turn.
Can I ask you whether or not you are suffering from OCD, because with this illness many people have intrusive thoughts which do dominant their lives.
Either way can I suggest that you see your doctor who may help you with medication and they can refer you on to see a psychologist, where they will organise to put you a 'mental health plan' which entitles you to 10 free visits.
You need help with this and can't suffer any more, and the psychologist will have different options on how to tackle this, and if you aren't happy with that psych then go and see another one. Geoff.

Hey Ellxe
I had something really similar when I was young. (I'm talking 7-9 years old). Honestly, I don't really know what it was. But I remember that it was scary and confusing. Because I was so young, I just ignored it until it went away (which is definitely not how it should be dealt with) I wish I had more information for you about how to cope with it, but I just wanted to let you know that you're not the only person to have something like this, and there are people with much more experience and information than me who can help you manage it. 🙂

Hey Ellxe.
I also hear voices in my head on occasion. Mine is caused by dissociation, but there are a lot of things that can cause voices, even things like dehydration and fatigue can have that affect I believe. However I can't diagnose you, but a doctor or psychiatrist can definitely help you out there. If you don't want to tell them your hearing voices, you could call them auditory hallucinations instead, if it makes you more comfortable.
If it's any help to you my voices also scream sometimes, and sing, and say things (good, bad and weird). And while this can be overwhelming, there are some things you can try that might help:
- Music.
- Writing down your thoughts (or theirs.)
- Doing exercise, even a short walk is good.
- Doing something relaxing, silly or fun.
- Possible talking to the voice, or even out loud to yourself, and see if it helps calm things down.
- Talking to someone you trust.
Well I wish you all the luck, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. ^_^
